Charging Juggernaut Battery While on Bike

I have one minor issue with the battery setup on my Juggernaut and wondered if everyone else has the same and/or has a recommendation.

Basically, I cannot charge the battery while it is mounted on the bike because there is not enough clearance between the charging port and the frame to allow the rather large connector on the charger to be put in. See picture attached.

I was thinking one way to fix this would be to source a connector for the charger side that was either shorter or had some right angle profile. The other would be to try and move the battery mounting plate further up the frame. I tried this, but one of the slots that the mounting screws go in is at its maximum displacement. I suppose I could drill a separate hole in the mounting plate or try and extend that one slot with a dremel tool, but would rather avoid that.

This is a minor inconvenience, but wouldn't mind fixing it if I could. Thoughts?

Either of you folks contacted your dealer or the manufacturer yet? Voltbike and Biktrix are both Canadian companies and may be able to help you with that problem (You're probably not the only rider with this issue!). At least they ought to be informed about the inconvenience. Shouldn't have to pull your battery every time you want to charge it!

Hey Fred, here's what you could do:
- remove the battery off the bike
- loosen the 3 screws that hold the mount in place
- slide the mount up the downtube
- tighten the 3 screws holding it in

That should give you enough room to insert the charger while the battery is on the bike.

We improved this design on our 2016 model with a new battery case that has the charger port on the side.

I have given feedback to Voltbike. For the Yukon, one can rotate the controller to the side to make room. Easy option to do that. Even then, the connector is on bottom and down low and takes some forethought to align the plug slot at 12 when plugging in because it is a difficult line of sight.

ps, it looks like Biktrix and Voltbike are using the same battery systems from China. Have you seen them? It is a 5 blade, blind mate battery interface. One to be real careful inserting the battery to not bend the blades, or touch them accidentally and get a spark.

Yes, I've had to deal with bad connections on some thin metal 4 blade LiIon setups (different company). Occasionally our shop has fixed a poor connection that tends to cut out by carefully straightening one or two off centered blades. A good set of long thin needle nose pliers works magic. This of course is done with the bike and battery off .

Thanks for the reply.
I tried that, but the lowest slot on the mount is at its extremity and the mount just cannot be moved up enough to make room.
As I said in my initial post, the solutions I see were:
1. Try and drill another hole in the mount or extend the lower slot with a dremel tool. (I was a little reluctant to do that)
or
2. Try and source a different connector for the charger end that was a bot shorter or had a right angle profile. Do you happen to know what that connector type is called?

But so far, I have done nothing.
