I’m doing total drivetrain replacement on our two 2019 City’s and finding limited availability of the 46t 130BCD front chain rings. Some have pins and not sure if they will drag the guard. Some are for 9 speed chains and might be thinner. Has anyone just flipped these over before they were totally shot, so the worn area is not used anymore?

Some chainrings have pins as a helper for changing gears from smaller to larger chainrings on multi chainring bikes. I could grind them off if they interfere but for now I’ll see about flipping the ring over and using the other edges. Some rings advertise that as a double life technique.I don't know what you mean by the pins? (that could drag the guard??)
I don't see any pins around the chainring.
