G'day everyone, i just recently changed my front chainring on my bbshd from a 46t to a 42t, the difference between them offset wise is -10mm so the chain in 1st gear is on quite an angle and is making a sort of clicking noise, would this be the result of an extreme chainline?. If so what are the disadvantages to that. The reason I'm not 100% sure on this is because at the same time I replaced the rear cassette and chain and thought maybe they might be causing it. It's shift nicely without a problem and only makes the noise in 1st gear. Let me know what you guys think, cheers.
I have attached a picture for reference, the photo doesn't quite show it but it looks a bit worse in real life.
