CCS is tougher than me

Had my first ‘off’ this morning. Patch of black ice down a country lane.
Damage to the CCS:
* the end part of the front mudguard stay (the little plastic bit that keeps the mudguard in place)
* mirror glass broken (not technically part of the CCS!)

Damage to me:
* badly grazed upper right arm
* grazed left knee
* big toe sprained
* left arm aching
* lower left leg aching

The bike is fine though, not a scratch on the frame!
Oh i forgot, the front light was slightly off centre, took half a second to put it in the right place

New mirror ordered up, but where can I get one of the plastic mudguard stays.....?

Take care out there if it’s rained overnight

Glad you escaped with nothing of YOUR frame broken!
Ice remains my big worry for winter biking (which for me will largely be office commutes on paved trails.) Haven't encountered any yet but I suspect it is only a matter of time.

My CCS is how I get everywhere but I've chosen not to ride if it's below freezing and isn't completely dry out, which thankfully has only been a couple of days so far this year. Wet leaves this Fall were bad enough.

Bruises heal quickly sounds like you'll be back in the saddle soon. Glad the CCS is okay.

Wow, glad you and the bike weren't seriously injured. Have you seen @Reid's video of his accident last spring?
I’m okay, just a bruise now on my upper thigh and a healing arm. Yes, saw Reid’s video, glad he was okay.

I’m planning a ride on the CCS tomorrow weather permitting. ?
