Can't unlock ST1

My Stromer (2012, low miles) has been great but I ran into a problem a few days ago: Out of the blue, after turning the bike on the display said “Locked” with the 4 zeros. I tried to enter the default code 1234, but no matter how I pushed "+/-" the display with 0000 did not change. Also, the battery (no prior problems) was fully charged, yet shows up empty on the display. My local dealer knows very little about Stromers (!!) and I am hoping to get some answers on this forum.

This is what I have tried: Taking the battery out, charging it again (green light). Making sure the plugs are clean. Press the ON/OFF button for different lengths of time to reset. No change.

Anyone had the same "Locked" problem and solved it? Thanks.

Hi. I have gotten my ST1S "Locked" twice now. I believe that it locks when I accidentally long press the power button. I have done so with a low battery and then charged. Once locked, the battery appears low, but unlocking either default code then shows it is fully charged.

So, all sounds consistent euth my experience except that the default code does not work.

In the end, it was a faulty display. Had it switched out, works fine now.

Remember there is a watch type battery in the display that can go out and cause problems as well. I had to replace the one in mine a few years back.
