Can't stop a ride in the app once it's started

I have started riding my Aventure (original) to work and want to use the ride features of the app. I can start a ride by tapping "GO", but when I get to work and want to stop the ride by tapping the stop button, nothing happens. No matter how much I tap that stop button it just keeps on going. So I have to quit out of the ride, which loses all of the data from that ride. Does anyone know a fix for this? Now I'm just using my Apple Watch to record the ride, but it doesn't get the same data and I'd like to use the app if possible.
