So, up until February 1st my Creo Turbo SL Expert EVO was $9.250.00. On February 1st the price went to $9750.00. I see today the price is not $11,349.00. That is more than 2K over where it was just 25 days ago. I Paid $9750.00 per bike for two bikes. I don't think I would have purchased them at todays pricing.

They are setting up for the proposed rebate for $1500.....stacked deck (my belief)

It occurs to me that maybe this is a ploy to REDUCE sales. They can't supply the bikes in normal amounts due to all the known problems so why not? The strategy keeps bikes on the dealers floors at least to look at and sells a few bikes to those with the money to buy them. Thus maintaining some profit at least. Kind of a desperate move to my mind. The big four may be in more trouble than we think. Perhaps the supply chain disruption is due to more than just crazy demand and corona virus. Or maybe manufacturing in China is more plagued with problems than the world knows.

I think you went to the Canadian site. On Specialize's Canadian website the bike is $11,349.00 CAN. Canadian prices for their Creo models are insane.

Edit: Strange that I can't get to the US site. I keep on getting directed to the Canadian site.

If there is a forum for $50,000 cars, someone is going to complain. That's what forums are for isn't it? This forum has gone that way a lot more in the last year or so.
Whole lot more folks gettin hosed these days due to high sales from across the industry. And the DTC outfits ( not all of them ) that offer zero support.

Reed. Please ride a $9000 e-bike first, make sweeping statements next.
If it was $4k and I saw it in a shop and I was in the market ... I might take it for a test ride. But at that price I would not even look at a hardtail no front suspension bike. No frigging way.

To each his own. I wouldn't want much if any suspension in a gravel/road bike. And if I looked at a major manufacturer's e-road bike that had a full carbon frame and fork with carbon wheels and Di2 shifting that also had their best motor and battery, I'd wonder where they were cutting corners if it were priced at $4k. The wheels and groupset retail for almost that much by themselves.

ALL of these killers, hot, new, tricked out bikes are FANTASTIC for the young...but as we "oldies" who just love to push the pedals with a little bit of help for assistance, its way overkill unless your genetics let you mountain bike like a youngin once you are over 60.
Just sayin.
Sure, I'd love to have a lot of the fluff for my daily rider, but 9-10-12k for a bike that's way over-designed for an old guy is overkill.
