What do you think?

A student from University of Victoria in Canada invented Caboost, which supposedly an innovative idea.

He wants to sell it for below $500 Canadian, which is below $387 US @ today's exchange rate.

I honestly don't know how practical this thing will be... compare this to DIY E-bike kit, as you can see adding another wheel at back plus all the complexity & I don't know how stable this will be if you go on flat dirt, grass, etc?

I would think the biggest problem with that idea is it would need to be fairly heavy; otherwise there would be no load on it to prevent the drive wheel from losing traction.

Satisfies two of the most desired traits of eBikes requested on the forum here. "I don't want to sweat" and "climb hills". Not exactly new though.

Not invented. Developed his own design at best. It looks okay and if he makes it at the projected price it might do well. Quality parts, a good battery pack, with profit for maker and seller, I think will drive the final price higher. Here are 10 devices on the same theme that have been around for some time.

I put together a BOB Yak with a Golden Motor wheel 9 years ago. It worked well and the design overall has promise, especially for those that want to carry something extra along. Unhook the trailer and share it with other bikes is also a plus for some. I would do it again if I had the need for it.
