Brooks Saddle

Anyone ditch the Stromer saddle for a Brooks Flyer?
Wondering about the comfort comparison, and the spring suspension in particular ...

I'd stay away from Brooks leather saddles on a Stromer. The ST1 already has a very steep seat tube angle and I had to get another seatpost with a lot more setback plus run my saddle as far back as possible in order to get my position dialed in. Brooks tends to run with the saddle rail range more aft than most other saddles, including Stromer's stock saddle. As a result, you may not be able to get a leather Brooks pushed back far enough to get the right fit. The C Series works fine though. I ran a C17s on mine and it worked fine. The saddle does have a hammock effect and adds to comfort a bit.

I was looking at the same thing with my current Stromer saddle. Have it back all the way. Looked into offset seatposts, but largest offset I found was 25mm. The ST1's post if I measured correctly (center of bolt to center of post) came out at 30mm. So no post I can find with more than the stock post. Which one did you find?
Many thanks for the feedback - not something I even considered re the Brooks rail positioning.

25mm was the most I could find in non-suspended. Body float is a bit more IIRC. I'm using a Truvativ Stylo T20...found it used and cheap on eBay. I want to say the stock post wasn't more than 10-15mm. The clamp head was rubbish too...seat always slid back because of the curved clamp head.

Seats are probably the most personal item on a bike. One size or style never fits all. Much of this centers on the kind of riding you do and your size. I have a Stromer ST-1 and had a Brompton folder before that. The perfect seat for me is the Brooks b67. It's wide, spreads the weight over more area, has a bit of springiness, and is durable. I have 4000 miles on mine and I put a lot of load on it--have lost weight and am down to 210. I'm 6'1". I baby it--don't let it get wet and I would say it should last at least another 4000 miles. Hard to beat, but not for everyone.
