Bottle Cage vs Rear View Mirror

In a battle royale battle between the two accessories, if you had to pick one over the other, which would you pick for an ebike and why?

I always like to make sure I can see and be seen when biking because the biker is always going to get hurt even if it isn't your fault. I did the clip on rectangular mirror you can attach to your glasses or visor of your helmet. The mirror is large enough for me to see day or night and I like I can see behind me as my head turns.

I have 3 bottle cages on my Radrover and a 4th on my topeak rack bag. It is way safer and easier for me to use my Camelbak Rogue hydration pack to drink from on the go.

Camelbak Rogue, Amazon, $55: https://www.amazon.com/Camelbak-201...1496948536&sr=1-11&keywords=camelbak+backpack

I also have a Camelbak 72 oz water bladder I can insert into my Osprey commuter back pack in the laptop pocket when I work commute.

I rely heavily on my mirrors. On my e-bike the B&M e-bike mirror and on my human powered Spot - a Mirrcycle. When I switch to my Tern which doesn't have a mirror I catch myself always looking for the mirror that isn't there (just haven't got around to switching my grips and adding a mirror to my Tern). The mirror isn't just about seeing the car about to hit me (as someone else said) but seeing the road bikers coming up from behind (let's me know either move right or to hit Turbo and lose them) or seeing the fume belching city buses coming after me (move to the sidewalk and avoid a mirror to the back of the head). To me the mirror is as essential for commuting as the helmet. So I can leave the water bottle in my backpack, trunk bag or pannier but I don't want to be without my mirror.

Now next week we're headed for temps of 95F so I reserve the right to change my mind.

Well said. You are perfectly within your rights to change your mind under those temps!

There are no bottlecage bosses on my bike so I added a mirror to the handlebars and velcro bottlecage to each side of the fork. Problem solved and no one got hurt.
