Interesting read - I’m 20 months into R&M ownership (approaching 6000km) and motor is still fine …. Although I’m two DAYS into ownership of a Specialized Turbo Levo eMTB with their Brose motor.

It’s noticeably quieter than my Bosch HS motor. Going to monitor this carefully going forward.

Brose drive units are belt-driven if I recall correctly; they're known for being extremely quiet as a result.

Unfortunately, the latest Specialized/Brose motors are not that quiet anymore. The design must have changed.
