Battery Key (swivel type)

Does anyone have a DIY fix for the battery keys (the ones that swivel with pins in them). I lost one of the pins and only have one remaining pin to hold the key together. These keys are so flimsy.

For similar repairs I have used the proper diameter drill bit. Pick the size that is a snug fit. A small diameter drill bit can be snapped like a pretzel stick to the correct length, the resulting piece pushed into place.

It is a handy technique and cheap, too, especially if you use one of your worn out drill bits.

Thanks for the tip! (pun intended)

My solution was to cut a piece if wire hanger and insert it in the hole with the missing peg and put some super glue to the ends so the pegs cannot slip out.
