TerraTrike Rover. Was the only option at the time due to its weight capacity. Greenspeed Magnum Plus is the only alternative in the tadpole market.
Had a Tongsheng TSDZ2 that performed well. Had no issues at all installing it. Worked well until 113 miles, while on a hard pack trail. Hit some soft stuff and lost the gear. It got sent back for repair, and my friend bought this Bafang M625 as he heard it was made more for cargo bikes. Roger figured this would be the better option in a 1,000 watt version, whereas the TSDZ2 was set at 650 watts.
Since installing the M625 I have had nearly 1 month downtime trying to find parts, support, suppliers. Roger bought the kit; he stated the vendor contacted Bafang and Bafang says they have nothing for extenders. And if we were to alter anything the warranty is void. Serioulsy, what does Bafang expect people to do? Bafang made a proprietary system that uses proprietary connectors, and no support. 1 month downtime and snow is supposed to come next week. All this time wasted, and not going to be able to ride during winter, all because Bafang will no supply extensions for the SYSTEM THEY CREATED.
Told my friend to let us package the motor back up, get his money back, and I'll go back to being a slowpoke with am Efneo front hub. Bafang only cares about their revenue, not their customers. At least this is what I am getting. Got nailed with a bad case of Covid 2 years ago, almost died, and have struggled to get back to the performance I used to be before that virus. Used to pedal 7 to 11 MPH, now am down to 3 to 6 MPH.
When Roger gave me a Tongsheng TSDZ2 is was like touching heaven. Opened a whole new world and I was enjoying life again. Then when it died, he got this, and am one wiring harness away from riding. The Tongsheng motor kit came back with lower gears and a PEEK gear. Eco.Cycles has been 100% supportive. Bafang, pfft.
I too want to splice that battery wire. would fix what Bafang wants to ignore.
