Bafang hub motor spins, wheel does not....

My wheel stopped spinning under power. I can hear the motor spinning inside the hub, but nothing, no resistance, nothing.

I took it apart, found some rust, sanded everything as best as I could, cleaned all the teeth on the 3 plastic gears (none missing or damaged) and re-greased. Sanded and cleaned the inside of the hub, applied new grease there too.

I re-assembled it and same thing: motor spins but not the wheel ?

Any ideas ?

Broken clutch, but I believe you could have checked the triple planetary when you had it apart. I have a spare sitting around, and I recall it spins one way,

The other problem, and I have heard it has happened to some owners, is the controller loses its sync and spins the motor backwards. Then the clutch will never engage. I deliberately reversed my wires once on a motor, and yes it will spin inside the hub w/o doing anything,
