Hello. I’m new to this forum and I’m hoping it can give me some help in dealing with Addmotor. My new Addmotor Hithot throws the chain off the front sprocket when you roll it backwards and when riding over rough terrain, mostly in the lower gears. After much research and reviewing lots of videos online, I couldn’t figure the problem out. The crank sprocket is obviously misaligned to the cassette gears, but everything was adjusted correctly. Then I measured the distance from the rear axle to the crankshaft on both sides. This showed that the brake side of the axle was 6-7mm closer to the crank axle than the cassette side. I have sent numerous videos, photos, emails and phone calls back and forth to Addmotor and they insist the problem is because I’m trying to shift while turning the crank backwards because in one video I accidentally did this. Several other videos demonstrate the problem. I made my measurements several ways using a plumb bob, a 5 foot straight edge and several squares and levels. As a former professional motorcycle mechanic, I am very familiar with checking frames for misalignment and damage. I’m going to contact California Consumer Affairs today as a last resort, as well as any other complaint forum I can. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? It‘s a shame I paid $2,000 for a bicycle that can’t be used as intended. I received the bike that last week of June and have been in contact with Addmotor since early July.
