Bad Bosch Warranty - Biker Beware

Certainly not saying this is the case but the age of iffy warranty response is certainly upon us. Major car companies like Toyota find ways out of even acknowledging a problem, let alone fixing one.

Rtringale is going off half cocked and clearly is avoiding clarifying the situation as requested by numerous people trying to sort it out. He seems to not really want any feeback or help. This thread appears to be just a hit and run as his first post on this forum. I give him no cred based on his demeanor, tone, and lack of follow up.

We should all stop commenting here and let this lousy thread sink to the bottom, never to be seen again.

There is no universal practice for all manufacturers for all warranty coverage. The ones that only cover parts are the very worst as the labor is always going to be much higher than the cost to replace a defective part. The good companies see the defect as being their fault and they want to make the customer whole as quickly and conveniently as possible. Clearly the group inside Bosch that puts out the e-bike drive units does not think this way.

With every other warranty for mechanical or electrical items that I have had to get work done under the manufacturers' warranties, I never paid anything out of pocket. But that is only my experience over the past 50 years as a consumer. Evidently people expect much less from companies and companies are happy to oblige by delivering less. I prefer not to meekly bend over and I spend as much time doing research on customer service provided by a company as I do looking at specifics about their products.

Another two posts wonder not to give us the whole story. Sorry, but I get truly frustrated with this sort of post. $89 is not unreasonable. Bosch battery failures are rare given their attention to detail.

Sure, as I speculated, a 2 post wonder. Drop a turd and left. I’m still in the camp supporting no bashing allowed.
