Yeah, I'd have the same fender mounting issue with those upside-down forks that I want.
There's nowhere to mount the fender.
I'd have to make a bracket that connects between the stantions 190mm above the tire.

I don't think that I can mount it to the lower mud guards to keep it closer to the wheel?

I really want a front fender. I don't want crap tossed in my face.

I don't think that I have a choice between having a fender sprung or unsprung?
🤔 Nope, not for me. The tyres, grip, and seat are all the suspension I get🤔. @PedalUma did put an adjustable stem and handlebars on her if needed. And I will get muddy , mudguard or no guard .

That is what I exactly meant when I deliberately insulted the man. The trunk of his Mercedes Benz was far bigger than the one of my Daewoo.

Usually Polish emigres are helpful towards their compatriots, and that man was like a bigger family member in the Oslo community. He did not want to help, well, so he could find a honest excuse like

"Sorry Stefan, the trunk of my car is so clean, and I'm afraid your wheelchair would stain it"

But not the size of his Mercedes trunk! 😊

On a side note, the worst Polish émigrés are new Americans 😃 Like in "Now I am an American, and I could touch the God's feet". The emigres to Canada are, on contrary, very nice and helpful people...

Congratulations Art! If I needed a folder it would be a Montague. I've watched that company for a long time. Seems to have the least compromises of all folders. Hopefully I'll get to see yours on a fall ride. Maybe Mt. Gretna again.

The Beemer is Arctic Blue Metalic, Barb's dresses are often Ditzy Blue Floral , so the bike is (Art)tistic Electric Blue now.
But "red hair and black leather" is my favorite color scheme ...

Usually you get what you pay for unless you're paying for a name brand or something that is fake.

I say "cheap crap" to denote that it is both inexpensive, and a piece if crap.

I owned a Subaru GL 1800 wagon in the 90's and a Mazda Protégé5 sport wagon until recently.
I could comfortably sleep in the back of my Subaru but my Mazda was shorter and I needed to fold the front seats down as well to get enough leg room to stretch out straight, but the front seat didn't fold flat.
I never did sleep in my Protégé but I sure could stuff a lot of crap in there.

13 bundles of shingles managed to Completely SLAM my car.
Unfortunately, after two trips with 13 bundles, I wrecked my wheel bearings.
They were a huge expensive PITA to replace.

I stay away from discussing what's is, or isn't crap, yet. Enshitafication happens everywhere today ...
 
Gotta say I'd make sure the stock tires are inflated to the "average" that they are rated for, and ride the carp out of it for at least 50 miles.
Some tires "look" like they are something that they may not be.
If the tires "feel" wrong after a bunch of miles after adjusting psi, it is then that I would consider alternatives.
What are the current tire specs?
Other than too big and wonky, IDK yet. About to look those specs up, will report ASAP.
 
I run 3 bike lights at night, 2 on the bike and the third one mounted on my helmet,
and can be also used as a stand alone light if needed. See info here

I use these type when walking to from camp after dark, get the ones with the pivoted head, and they have a strong long range light that looks were you look.
Also fit onto a helmet and or your head if required.

Somehow the frame needs to connect to the big metal tab?
So either the bottom connector rises up to connect with the tab, or there is some sort of connection bushing to insert in between to mate the two ?

Perhaps it's a urethane bushing ?

Instead of a wet noodle, you would have controlled lateral frame flex at that connection point !!

You could pick the durometer of the urethane bushing to choose how stiff the lateral frame flex is !!!

She is a full sized simple folder, no suspension or fancy display,

I forgot about the hidden Tongsheng motor.

So do you have a display?

I'm a big fan of simplicity but I didn't think that you could eliminate the display?

How do you know where your battery is at?
Is there a charge indicator light on the battery, or do you use it until it shuts down?

I guess your only sensor input is the torque sensor built into the motor?

Here is what it looks like. Zoom to see better. The battery has a charge level indicator and looks similar to a water bottle. The display is thumb sized and shows predictive charge level based on how you are ridding. Take a climb, it drops, level out it goes up a bar.

A woman who has a road bike from me and loves it; she wanted a more casual bike. She lives on a coastal mountain. She was sold a $3200 bike with a $600 maintenance plan. An executive from that company I saw in town a few days before told me to never email a photo again, 'You have nothing to contribute'. Her bike from his major company couldn't make the grade. She had to walk it for a mile. I helped her get a full refund and made this bike with a cargo motor for her today. It can climb anything. It has the same gearing as Art's bike, 11-50. Do a wire check.

Sorry about the silence, guys. I have been carrying and laying bricks, planting trees and flowers, and generally doing what she who is always right says needs doing in the yard ( a lot) whenever it isn't raining.

My only rides have been short, unpowered, and on the grass or the parking lot at the end of the street by my house ... relearning to ride her as a bike before smashing myself up at class 3 speeds.

On a related note, this thread should not be in the general forum anymore; where to move it I wonder?

The folders, builds, or Montague subforums all seem reasonable, but noone except me ever visits the Montague subforum , and this won't be technical enough for for the builders subforum, so probably I'll post to the folding bikes forum untill I am ready to do a real ride report. What do you think?
