The combination of belt technology, Fox suspension and Bosch components make R&M the go to bikes for me. On top of that they feel supremely safe. I dont ride fast, but when I head downhill at speed I feel as secure as riding in a car.
I get that they are very expensive - I couldn’t have afforded one 10 years ago. They probably don’t represent the best value for money either. There are no doubt better specialist bikes out there. But next to my B&O speakers (love my speakers), the R&M is my best purchase of all time - it gives me more pleasure and satisfaction in life than my AMG merc and I can enjoy quality time riding with my wife (and children when they visit - one daughter makes visiting a priority just to go for a ride with me
).

Many people look at the price of an average R&M bike and struggle to work out when the cost is going. My bike was £8,622. My neighbour has recently purchased his dream motorbike, brand new, just north of £11,000. When you look at it like that, there is no way you would ever buy a R&M bike. Outside of that comparison, I have considered buying a R&M bike for a couple of years now, but, held off until the spec of the bike was 100% perfect for me. My 2020 SD was the bike. I absolutely love it. I like the way R&M develop the different bikes they have. They upgrade their bikes at different stages, which, gives you a good idea what is coming for the bike you like by looking at the changes they have made to others in the range.

I think alot of how much you pay for your bike depends on how you are going to use it. If you are a commuter and you need it on an everyday basis and it is crucial to your lifestyle, by all means spend the money and get the top of the line whether it be R and M or whatever brand. However, if you are just going to use occasionally or for exercise now and then, why not find a value bike and get a good deal. Too many people get hung up on labels (myself included) and overspend when it is not needed...
Yesterday, I drove 200 miles to test ride a Delite GT vario HS with Fox suspension, a Homage GT vario. The shop has only these two models. As comparing , I also tested Trek Allent +9.9S ($5999.99). I definitely like Delite and I’m going to order a SuperDelite GT Rohloff HS with Fox suspension and dropper seat post . My question is: when should I order it? If I order now, it take 8 weeks to build and 4 weeks to ship, so I’ll get it at the end of November, too cold to ride till spring next year. If I order in January next year, will the price jump up?

If past years are anything to go by, we should know within the next month what R&M's offers for 2021 are. Obviously, 2020 has every right to be the exception!
Had you chosen the Homage, my answer would have been definite: Wait! Surely, the Homage is due for an upgrade to Bosch CX Generation 4 motor.
It's different with the Superdelite: the most likely 'upgrades' will be a new colour, a variation in the options and small price rise. I'd risk waiting to see what the changes are.

David, I really like step-through of Homage. I’m closing to 70, so easy low step through is much better. Unfortunately, no Fox suspension upgrade for Homage. I like smoother and more comfortable ride. If Homage has Fox suspension option, I WIIL buy it but not Superdelite.

R&M are currently hosting a 5 day online event for LBS's in lieu of their event they normally host in Germany. We should here in the next few days. On another forum (I think?) some mentioned that news was the Homage was getting Gen 4 motor + dropper post option and up to 1125wh battery capacity.

The previous Homage (single battery, chain drive, manual Rohloff) did have the suspension upgrade option.
Details of the 2019–2020 version (with dual battery, belt drive and Rohloff E-14) were leaked by a Spanish R&M agent during August 2018 and made public on R&M's website before the end of the month.
Anyone interested in a Homage should wait patiently. Above all, hope for a rethink of how the second battery is mounted.

What a fine piece of kit that is! Each speaker has 4x 160watt amps built in to drive the three cones (1 x tweeter, 1 x mid, 2 x base)

My Homage has been an extraordinarily disappointing ebike.
The design concept is brilliant – essentially a step-through version of the Delite – but reliability is altogether unacceptable.
The bike has been rendered useless on multiple occasions. Both the motor and Rohloff E-14 have suddenly stopped working. One moment operating faultlessly, the next kaput! And on each occasion, I've been riding along a nice paved road or cycleway.
Don't blame Bosch; don't blame Rohloff. The fault isn't in the drive components themselves but in what I shall term 'the wiring', the way in which Riese & Müller have put the package together.
As I write this, the Homage is again out of action. This time the trouble resulted from what I have described elsewhere as a fundamental design blunder: mounting the second battery on the hinged lid of the internal battery's cover. How could Riese & Müller do such a ridiculous thing!

If that's the case, which sounds odd in that if you only have one battery then it's not symmetrical?
But could be the first R&M with 1250Wh.
Personally i'd like the option to have manual Rohloff switching.

Thats just wrong. Is it because they don’t cover the labor required to fix the wiring issues?

@David Berry my wife's 2020 Homage has so far been reliable, except both her bike and my Delite have thrown 504 errors - supposedly because we had modded the bikes when we haven't - mine has done it twice. So far R&M and Bosch are saying nothing is wrong, and we must have modded our bikes. The only similarity between our bikes are the Smartphone Hub, and I suspect there is a significant bug throwing the error, which disables the motor - the second time half way through a 40km ride in the forest. I got back to the car about an hour before dark. My LBS has been very apologetic, and I am looking to pay a little extra and swop it out for a SD Mountain (as I realise I need 2 batteries) with the Kiox. If my wife's homage does it again, we will be returning her bike also. Pretty disappointing for you David.
