AnyTour 2021 powering off randomly

I bought a Giant Anytour E+ 2 2021 a few weeks ago to mostly commute to work with, I did a few trial runs of 10 to 15 miles to get used to it and all was fine.

Cycled to work last week, roughly 19 miles and a few 8+ degree inclines and all was well. On my cycle home a few miles in to the ride the power shut off, only way to get it alive again was to remove the battery and put it back in again.

After that it was on and off all the way home, eventually just turning off straight away.

Took it to Giant store Sheffield, UK who were really helpful and agreed to look at it for free even though I bought it from Tredz a UK online retailer.

They found nothing wrong with it after checking it over and having a short ride, gave me a nice report to say nothing wrong, no errors.

Took it on a ride yesterday, same problem after about 8 or 9 miles.

I've read other people on here and other ebike forums having similar issues with older models, mostly MTB. I've read about trying to clean the contacts, adjusting battery lock etc but I'm not sure whether to try all these things or just get Tredz to send a replacement?

Any thoughts from people that have suffered similar? I don't fancy another cycle home of nearly 20 miles with no assist.

Someone posted asking to see pictures of the bike and battery (but has now disappeared?)

Anyway a few below

This was yesterdays ride with data from my Garmin, first time it went off then came back on but was not providing any assist even after turning it up. Had to stop, turn it off and then it came back on properly again for a while, then later went off 3 more times.

Hi Shermo, welcome to the forum. You will find several people discussing similar problems, especially in the "Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes" thread. People talk about shims to raise the battery contacts, dielectric grease and even Giant replacements. I have experienced (very) occasional intermittent issues in 18 months of ownership and about 8,000km of use. Usually switching off and switching on again is enough to resolve. If not then removing the battery and replacing often works. The most I have had to resort to is spraying contact cleaner on the terminals but I think others obviously have bigger problems with it. Best of luck!

Motor overheat perhaps? Did you ride in the maximum assistance level? (Just guessing).
Generally I've just stuck with Auto mode, the last ride it cut out the first time on a slight decline when I was doing 20mph or so, so no assist at that point.

I decided to just get it replaced, I didn't spend 3x the price of my road bike to have an ebike I cannot rely on.
