Anyone get the X-Class?

Looks like the first batches have shipped in the last few weeks. I ordered one but it won't ship until late July. I'm curious what your first impressions have been. Thanks!

I have one. I received last week and I am loving it. You can ask me.
I'm jealous! The AR website says next batch is shipping 7/31. I'm hoping I get lucky and it gets here earlier, but I know that isn't all that likely to happen. When did you order yours? Did you have any issues with shipping or setup? Based on the comments in the FB group, it seems most are fine, but a handful have been unlucky. (It looks like AR is doing their best to resolve those issues).

How's the bike? Any recommended accessories? What kind of mileage are you getting out of the battery? This is my first e-bike so I'm pretty excited.

I am buying a gel padded seat cover as I don't like firm saddles. Other than that you can invest in mirrors and nice helmet.

I didn't have any issues but yeah some people's bikes are damaged during transportation. I read all those damaged parts are being changed for free. I was lucky enough not to encounter any of those. But I am sure they will improve some of those issues. There is always risk and benefit of ordering first batch of any product.

Assembly was pretty easy but tools they send with the bike are very low quality. So you can use them only to assemble and then throw away. If you don't have some hand tools better buy some simple swiss knife type of bicycle tool. I carry mine with myself incase I need to use it when riding it.

Thanks for responding! Are you seeing 25-28 mph top speed? Sounds like the 30+mph listed on the website is a bit of a stretch, although I understand there are a lot of variables that impact top speed. How about the battery? Decent range?

I paid the $28 for shipping insurance, so I'm not too worried about shipping damage, although I would be bummed about not being able to ride it.

It can make 28 mph. I guess there was a mistake in early launch time about speed. You maybe luckier than us as Ariel most probably listens to people's complaints and 2nd batch they will improve the problems.
My range is around 45-50 miles if I don't ride it fast. If I ride around 28mph with moderate hill climbing then it will be around 35 miles.

There are few things I talked with owner of Ariel Rider which I can share with you in person if you want.

How's the suspension? I saw a few videos on youtube and it seems there's no adjustability at all. How does it absorb the road and sidewalks?

Also, are you or anyone worried about the center mounted single shock absorber used for the rear suspension? I am worried that this setup in the long run will not be reliable or strong enough versus a dual shock absorber setup. The mounting points for the single rear shock absorber look like the weakest part of the frame structurally, two little bolts is all that's holding it in place.

The adjustable shock absorber will be amazing but I know it is impossible to have something like DNM on an e-bike at 1499. I think rear shock absorber is there not for off-road riding but just for extra comfort. And I can feel it. I ride my friend's Juiced scrambler before I purchased my X-Class and definitely mine is more comfortable.
I love the cafe racer style riding position but if you don't like it, handlebar positions can be an issue. (The bike comes with adjustable stem but still it doesn't have an upright riding position ).

I'd be willing to pay for a quality shock absorber upgraded unit front and rear.

Also upgrade to strengthened bolts for the shock absorber mount. If possible, weld in braces to strengthen the shock absorber mount.

I'm glad to hear your feedback about the comfort difference. My XP lacks any suspension so it's a firm sometimes rough ride. More comfort would be nice.

The cafe racer style riding position is very forward leaning. I hope this doesn't become a riding comfort issue for me. I ride my XP upright straight back and my X3 leaned forward lowered into the handlebars. I like the look and specs of the X-Class regardless.

The style of riding isn't the most comfortable for sure but I know it when I was buying one. And when I got my x-class I see they have an adjustable stem. I got X-Class pure for the specs and looks and I love riding cafe racer motor bikes. So I know what I was getting.
For shock absorbers I agree, It make sense to upgrade the shock absorber

I bought two for my 15 yr old sons. I've had a lot of issues. The headlights fell off (they are sending out new ones to every x-class owner...guess quality control issue) and both are reporting that the throttles just randomly stop working. I've reached out a couple times and still waiting for a resolution but wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this. Nowhere for me to take it as I'm in NC. Should have thought about this before buying.

Figured I'd update my post. My X-Class finally came after months of delays. (Ordered late May, and the bike arrived 9/18). I put on about 50 miles the first weekend and I have to say this bike is really really fun! I can't blame Ariel Rider for the delays as just about every manufacturer is facing similar problems. I do wish they improved their communication though.

This is my first e-bike so I can't compare it to anything else, but I would highly recommend it to anyone. All my family/friends that have ridden it agree it is really fun!
