Anyone else still putting miles on their RipCurrent S?

Bought Fättie about 6 months before Juiced went under in 2024… Is anyone (else) still putting miles on their RipCurrent S? I just rolled over 3000mi today, which is not bad for a year and a half, with about 2 months of downtime from needing to get parts, etc. Due to failures, I’ve had to replace the rear wheel assembly (which Juiced went down with), the front fork (metal fatigue), upgraded controller (back to stock) by raiding from a parts bike that I had to buy last winter in order to get back on the road. It hasn’t been easy being on my own with this bike, but I have to say I love the thing. It’s crazy comfortable, and (IMO) wonderful to ride. Thank you for building it, Juiced, and RIP...

I had a RCS like you only an earlier model that I loved the crap out of. It was just a nice riding unit that in my opinion had the right geometry. I didn't have to fix anything on mine except a couple of chains. I sold it with 1800 miles on it and the two bikes since just don't feel as good in a way I can't explain.
 
Wow, that’s awesome! Hitting 3,000 miles on your RipCurrent S is really impressive, especially with all the repairs and part swaps you’ve had to manage. It’s clear how much you love this bike and how much effort you’ve put into keeping it rolling. Even with the downtime and challenges, it’s great to hear that you still find it super comfortable and fun to ride. Those 25-mile rides must feel amazing, especially knowing all the work you’ve done to get back on the road. Juiced may be gone, but it’s obvious they built something special that’s still giving you joy every ride. Your dedication might even inspire other RipCurrent S owners to stick with their bikes and keep putting in the miles.
 
Thanks, gang! Yup, for the record I’m a retired guy who used to love to mountain bike when I was younger. About 15 years ago I gave riding up almost entirely because I could not get comfortable anymore on my mountain bike. What you said, @teskow , is pretty much how I feel about the RCS. I don’t have other ebikes to compare it to, but the RCS really works for me. Plus, I have tried to keep the cost as low as I can. I’ve spent about $1600 getting a spare bike (and renting a minivan to go down to NJ to get it!), and other parts that I’ve bought (spare motor, chains, brake stuff, extra batteries (including one destroyed by battery fire), spare rear assembly, etc.). So, it’s been about double the cost of the bike for my year and a half of joyful riding.

I rode the RCS through the (New England) winter last year and learned the hard way all about the “weak” spots with this bike’s drivetrain. The reason I got a fatty in the first place was so I could ride year-round. I persevered and rode through some pretty nasty stuff. I only had to be off the trail network for about 1.5 months as it became unpassable with ice. I’m not sure what will happen this winter… I thought about getting studded tires, but I think I will just do what I did last year and stick to the roads when I have to.

As for inspiring other Juiced owners to stick with their bikes, @alihyder , well, since I have the time, patience, and strong desire to “make it work,” I’m able to learn as I go with this. I’m not sure many would put up with the maintenance, but for me it’s worth it!
