This forum has been very helpful for this newbie. I have gotten quick responses with excellent info for my questions. Thank you!
Here's another question:
Can you mount 3 inch fat tires on fat tire rims, that came with standard 4.0 inch tires, without any necessary adaptation of the rim to accommodate the smaller tire?
I want to put a smaller, smoother, higher pressure tire on my fat tire bike. I do about 50% paved roads, 40% well groomed dirt roads, and 10% 4x4 trails (not suitable for average cars).
Any help is most appreciated.
Thank you.
John

John, if you do not know your inner rim width, just measure across the inside of your wheel at the outside of the rim for an approximation.

Take a look at the attached chart for the recommend range... a 29-51 mm inner rim width can fit a ( 3") 72mm wide tire. Hope this helps. ;)
