I've just finished installing my new OM on my BikeFriday NWT Silk. I installed the motor in the rear triangle using a new mounting that Jeff crafted specifically for this bike, which is belt drive w/disc brakes. So far, I've taken one short test ride here in the hills of Vermont using the PAS at 50%. I'm impressed at the motor's performance. I was concerned about noise with a friction drive, but it's not a big issue. The motor was reasonably quiet. Here's a shot of the OM install.
However, I'm not impressed by the controller. The screen is very small and the controls are not (for me) intuitive. So, I'm looking for a cheap used android phone (Simblee is no longer available for ios) that can serve as the controller. I'm an iPhone user, never used an android device and I'm not sure what I'm looking for.
Are there any android users that can suggest phone models that work? I believe that the folks at OM can upload the app to me for the phone once I have a compatible device.
