I'm trying to replace the tires on my Hai Bike 2008 Cross with something more durable and aggressive.

I understand tire width and what the rims will accommodate, but don't understand tire size. Which I guess is diameter?

The RIMS are 622x21. What size tire should I purchase?

Tire Sizing Systems

The short answer... you rims are 622mm in diameter and 21mm in width.

You can select a range of tires that are 700mm or (28-29") in diameter with a 25-50mm width (1-2")
