After a month of riding ...

I am absolutely loving the hobby. I really forgot how fun it was to ride a bike! lol

I just ordered some pedals to upgrade that part of my bike. I thought the orange would match the rest of the bike and look pretty cool! Mostly I ride with my daughter which is great because we are bonding even more over biking and it's been really fun.

I also ride with some friends in a private land up in NY. He owns a HUGE piece of property with flat ground and as well as some hills. Majority of my friends bike all have some sort of "Off Road" mode where they can go past the 28mph cut off. They can get up to 30-35mph and some a little higher. It would be nice to be able to keep up with them and figure out how to remove the speed limiter from the bike. So far I cannot seem to find anything online to help with that. I did get into custom settings on the display but it only had 4 settings - mostly simple stuff but couldn't figure out how to get into advanced settings where I assume the speed limited settings would be. Is it possible I need a programming cable? I have reached out to the Cycrown phone number as well as their emails however it seems like all of their customer service is outsourced and overseas. They were not very helpful which is disappointing. I was hoping to be put in touch with someone that actually knows or builds the bikes and has a passion for them but that hasn't been the case.

If anyone has any ideas or tricks I can try id appreciate that! Thanks guys

On my older Bafang hub bike (2019), to enter the advanced settings, it required a passcode, and the default passcode was based on the display model. I would GUESS that things are still the same, so if you can figure out which model display you have, that might point you in the right direction.

In general, I think a $1299 fat tire ebike with geared typical hub motor and 48V battery doesn't need a speed limiter to hold at 28 mph, since that's around the top speed anyway. You'll get a little more and every little bit helps, but 35mph needs a lot more battery.

Ah interesting. I just assumed it was being limited because with me on it (6ft -210lbs) it gets up to speed pretty effortlessly. If I lift the back tire and just use the throttle it's the same. 28.6mph right away. Since it's a 750 watt with a 1250 peak I thought it may at least have another 5mph or so in it. That's really all I'm looking for. I know it's not a Suron or anything like that.

I also remember seeing online someone had the same bike but the version 1.0 of it and he was able to get up to 35mph after unlocking the limiter so I assumed mine would be about the same,

At this point it's more of a Goonies adventure/obsession just trying to figure this out for fun lol

This simple trick works on some bikes I've played around with but not all. Some have a setting on the display for wheel size. I found if I set it to the smallest size, I can get some extra speed. The down side is, the speedometer and odometer are no longer accurate.

If your bike has such a setting, it might be worth a try.

Yea It doesn't have that and even if it did I probably wouldn't do it. I'd hate for the speedo and stuff to be off just to get an extra 5mph or so. The manual does mention something though. It's a bit vague. There are 4 customizable settings the display lets you get into.

#2 says controller cruise control setting - P02 is the controller cruise control setting. The display can choose the following 00 - non enable - 01 enable - press I to enter parameter selecting status and + or - to select between 00 and 01. Then press I to save setting and return to interface settings.

I have no fucking idea what that means so I was scared to mess around there lol

Your P02 enables cruise control, There is some other mechanism on your bike to use cruise control, On my bikes, holding the throttle constant for over 20 seconds does that. Probably the same on others, Doesn't increase speed.

Yup you're right. Just messed around with it. I don't like cruise control, feels weird to me lol I have never liked it on any of my cars and i guess not on my bike either!
