Adding A Bafang BBS02 to an existing Ebike?

I came across this guy on Youtube and he added a BBS02 to a Juiced Cross Current and wired it to used the stock battery. Has anyone here done anything like this? I have a Ride1up Core 5 and would consider doing this after the warranty expires or when I can no longer get parts and such. Is rewiring hard for just the battery?

The BBS02 battery connection is a standard XT60. For just the battery you would need to match connectors on the battery to the motor which may in tale cutting, splicing, crimping or soldering. All very easily accomplished with basic electrical skills.
More importantly is the bottom bracket compatibility of your bike with the BBS02 and the resulting chainline.

That is the one thing (BB size) that I can't find any info on. I like the idea of using the existing battery. I have no electrical skills though :)

The wires on the battery are 2, positive - negative. You can get by with possibly crimping new connections on the battery and motor.
On the BB.. Best bet is to physically measure what you have.

Stepping back, why would you want to do this? From the point of view of install complexity, you gain an integrated battery from the original ebike, but you will have two displays and two throttles competing for handlebar space. You will have to buy brake sensors to have motor cutoffs.

Edit: I watched the video. He's working on a broken ebike with a dead motor.
"We just opted to leave that motor in there. It's not going to be doing any harm"
I thought he was looking to do dual motor.

Why not procure an unpowered bike and add the BBS02 or BBSHD to that, along with a downtube battery.

Yea defiantly not looking to have dual motors. Just a thought in my head about the future since I like the bike and have already put money into aftermarket fenders and rear rack. I am also adding a suspension fork and seat post and if I did or could put the mid drive on her I would rebuild the rear wheel.

I think the OP is just gathering info on whether or not it's possible if his motor fails. I don't think it a bad idea if he wants more power and is happy with the bike otherwise. Starting with an unpower'd bike doesn't add any benefit unless you are looking for other improvements such as suspension.
I like seeing a little creative Repurposing

I recently had to gain access to the controller on my Core 5 and check the connections and noticed there are screws in the bed of the battery well and got to thinking that I could remove that to get better access to run the wires internally should I need to in the future.
Then I came across the Johnny Nerd Out YouTube page and it got me thinking about it even more. I could also save money on Batteries since the Reention's Ride1up sells are reasonably priced and I have been thinking about a second battery anyway.
