Accuracy of battery level display reading on model E & R { downtube battery models }

i'm curious if anyone has any information on this ? I know some batteries have a meter on the battery itself & they are usually more accurate than the display reading but these batts. dont .. Today I went 20 miles & it shows 3/4 charge remaining .. Hmmmmm I doubt that I could go 80 miles on a charge though ..:) This is a second battery i bought a 14 AH .. Thanks for any help..tryng to determine true range for the bike..

Use the Volts on the display to judge how much battery you have used. I believe the motor cuts off around 42 or 43 volts. The volts will fluctuate a bit as well.
 
Although voltage can be used to determine the relative state of charge of a battery, keep in mind, it isn't linear. The first 50% isn't equal to the last. When the voltmeter reads 50% on many lesser quality gauges, LED types in particular, in reality, you actually have 30 - 40% charge remaining. This will vary depending on the individual battery & gauge characteristics.

If you ride out until your gauge reads 50%, you will likely not have enough juice to get back. It's wise to do some experiments with your bike to determine just how your gauge relates to range.

The most accurate way to determine battery SOC is to measure ampere hours consumed. AH gauges are more expensive and aren't found on many bikes.
 
Those are literally 15 cent INDICATORS.

65 cents for one delivered. Imagine what 1000 cost! Can’t find my link but they were 9 cents each in 2020.
