Wahoo Bolt, Need Help

I got my new Bolt yesterday and linked it to my home WiFi and Bluetoothed to my IPhone.

I thought my buddy said it will link to my 2022 Creo1 Comp Carbon.

What do I need to get or do for it to do that? The instructions talk about sensors?

Yes. You need to use the ELEMNT Companion App on your phone. Start the device, then the App. When both are connected, switch the Creo on. Go to Settings -> SENSORS Set up sensors. In the list of Unsaved Sensors you might find as many as three new sensors, which will soon fold into one Sensor named "E-BIKE". Select this and (I can't remember well) Pair it.
------------
The tricky point is the phone might ask for the PIN code, which is on the side of the TCU controller (which is inside the frame).
------------
If you paired the Creo with the Specialized App before, everything would be simple as A-B-C.

Now, you can:
  • Rename the e-bike
  • Set Wheel Circumference
  • Check the Odometer status.
When you will later customize the Workout data screen, these Wahoo fields are useful (select up to 7 of them):
  • Current Speed
  • Distance (workout)
  • Active Time (workout)
  • Distance Remaining (route)
  • Time of Day
  • LEV Travel Mode
  • Temperature
  • LEV Battery
  • Avg Speed (workout)
  • Cadence
  • Avg Power
  • Range (only works with Mastermind TCU).
The fields in italics are data retrieved from the e-bike and recalculated by Wahoo. The fields in bold are LEV, or strictly e-bike data.

Thanks Stephan, I was hoping you’d see my post and respond. It’s early here in California and just having my coffee. When I get motivated I’ll try what you suggested.

I paired my Creo to the Specialized app. in my LBS when I bought my bike 2 weeks ago.

When you say go to Settings-> SENSORS Set up sensors, is that on the Bolt device?

It is on the ELEMNT app on your smartphone! Contrary to Garmin (where you do almost everything on the device), you configure a Wahoo from the app on the smartphone, 100% capability. Wahoo Bolt and Wahoo Roam are working on the same principle, only Bolt allows for less data fields on data screens, has less data fields available, and uses LEDs more sparingly. I owned a Wahoo Bolt and used it on my both Specialized e-bikes before buying the Roam.

Ok I think I got it Stephan, thank you. I used the AUTO prompt for wheel circumference. That gonna work?

I‘m mainly looking for Speed, Distance, and Assist Setting showing in the screen on my Bolt. I can’t see the assist setting on the Master Control window on the bike when I’m riding because it’s too small.

Ok thanks. I’m doing a 50 miler on Friday so I’ll let you know
From my own recent experience. I'd say go for a short ride and test it... Even just down the street and back. You don't want to return from a long 50-mile ride and find out something wasn't working.

I lost all of that data by not checking it properly... I realised my mistake about 25 miles into the ride!

Marts is of course right.

Extreme, can you see something similar in the ELEMNT App?

It should be one sensor, not three. If there are as many as three sensors (Cadence, Power, E-bike) please 'forget' all of them and start over. Wahoo is sometimes tricky in the beginning!

These three sensors are being 'folded' by Wahoo into a single item. It is different from Garmin, where three different sensors are displayed.

Yes, I saw that. It was just one sensor, but everything I need came up on the Bolt screen. We’ll see how the mileage looks after I ride it for a few mikes to see if the Auto wheel circumference is accurate.
