Commuter modifications?

Greetings all,

For those who use their Propella mainly for commuting, were there any items that you added besides the obvious (rack, fenders) to improve the bicycle? I ask because I'm a bit concerned about the exposed front chain ring. Has anyone installed a chain guard or any other commuter-friendly mods?

thanks - mike

If I buy a Propella, or any other ebike for that matter, I already plan on swapping out the front tire, for weight savings. If you do a little shopping, a 700x35 tire can go as low as 300 grams, and I think the stock tire is double that weight. That is over half a pound savings. I like the front wheel has quick release, for quick and easy flat repair on the trail. It makes sense to run a heavier, puncture resistant tire in the rear as changing that out will be a little more work.

I will also replace the saddle for something that fits. That is always personal preference - I never buy a bike expecting to use the stock saddle.
