4” to 3” tire replacement

Thinking of buying a fat tire ebike and one of the first things I want to possibly do when tires wear out is go down to a 3” tire. Will the rim accommodate a smaller tire? I am just trying to get the best of both worlds

Depends on the rim width. Anything over 60mm won’t play well with a 3” tire.

Are you looking for more of an urban tire or all terrain? Some 100% urban Radrover riders have switched from the 26X4 Kenda to the Maxxis Hookworms 26X2.5". I don't know if they ran with a tube or tubeless?

I remembered an owner saying the smaller tire has less sidewall that lowered the ebike height. They needed to be more careful on turn and obstacles with pedal strikes.

I switched to 3" on my Teo Fat Bike, unfortunately lost one of my new tires due to it's poor construction and now I have one of each. Will ride it out as long as I can before I change them. Here is a picture of what to expect it will look like, sure it may look gufy however at my age I really do not care about looks.

Why not just buy an ebike that comes with plus-size tires? Plus-size is industryspeak for 3-inch (or thereabout) tires. I have one, a Haibike AllMtn Full Seven Plus, meaning it's a full suspension mountain bike with 27.5 wheels and 3-inch tires. The larger wheel (compared to most fat bikes' 26-inch wheels) is also an advantage.

I believe you will find many ebikes with plus-size tires, not just Haibike.
