2k bike that accommodates a Thule child seat. iGo elite?

Hi, I’m a devoted EBR watcher; and I’m ready to buy my first ebike. I need it for weekend excursions, and might use it for commuting in summer. But it needs to accommodate a Thule child seat. And for that reason I like step through frames. I’m considering an iGo elite, or a radcity step through. I welcome any suggestions and advice. Thanks!

The Aventon Pace 500 is another competitively priced step through. Otherwise I suggest you try your local ebike shops, all my local stores have ex-demo or clearance ebikes for sale below full price, example my local Gazelle dealer is selling the 2018 Arroyo C8 step through reduced by $700 now there is a new model, similarly Raleigh Detour iE and the almost identical Izip E3 Path Plus step through models with the Shimano Steps motor are going for $1,500-1,800 now there is a new design (update: Crazy Lenny's are advertizing the Izip model in their under $1,000 section!). My local Pedego store participates in their approved used program and he sells his shop's ex-rental Comfort Cruiser bikes with a year of warranty remaining for $500 less than they were new. All these models will take a Yepp seat except the Aventon which doesn't come with a rack, but you can get a 28" Thule Yepp rack as an accessory from etrailers or Amazon.

I found a Stromer ST1 for $1700. Should I buy that instead?

I do not know if the custom Racktime rack on Stromer's is compatible with Thule/Yepp child seats, check with Stromer what the load rating is and if any other racks can be fitted to their bikes. The ST1 Elite model is listed on Stromer's (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) currently as a Class 1 speed limited to 20mph so would be permitted to ride on bike trails in those states that have adopted the 3-Class model ebike legislation, whereas all the other ST-1 models (Platinum, Limited, S, T, X) are Class 3 (28mph) and would not. You could take it for a test ride to see how you like a direct-drive hub motor vs the mid-drive and geared hub motors on the other ebikes I mentioned.
