I can find reports online, but I'm mostly interested in discussing what others here have watched, and their opinions.

Shame. In Uk this year it's free to air. Major terrestrial TV channel ITV has the rights for years but like the Tour, this is their final year. Bastards at Discovery/TNT have it fully next year behind the £30 a month paywall. So I'm enjoying it while I can. Not surprised it's not easily available in the States, it's a bit of an ugly duckling of a race. Beloved by local racing fans as only chance to see heroes up close, but pretty much ignored by BBC and newspapers as all cycling is in UK, now lumped in with Woke issues no doubt... I'll keep an eye on it along with the Vuelta and gsee Geraint Thomas's send off. He was showing off his INEOS Pinarello earlier btw! I'll try and find a link.

Jesus. When he crashes he does it right.
Yeah, that takes some talent in a bike race. Pericardial rupture is a very serious high-energy injury, and you have to wonder what else got damaged? Lots of pretty important stuff in the neighborhood — including the myocardium, coronary arteries, and pulmonary artery and ascending aorta. Hope he recovers.

Stage 1 ending:

This seems to be an official and free YT steam of all stages not sure if it's international:

Can you please not put the winner in the thumbnail? It makes watching the replay a bit pointless!

Anyway... yesterday and today has been very wet, signs thankfully it's clearing now. The route for the first 4 days is bumpy (It's Britain after all) but basically flat-ish so either breakaways or sprint finish, plenty of attacks on the narrow twisty (and rough tarmac) roads. The joke among the continental riders about our rough tarmac is that it's good training for the Spring Classics on the cobbles! GC seem to be keeping powder dry, and trying to avoid any (frequent) crashes in the wet. No sign of Remco, suspect this is a training race for the Worlds to get up to race speed after his cracked/broken rib. The last 2 days Sat & Sun are in Wales ending in Cardiff in honour of Geraint. Loads of mountains both days so that's probably where the GC action will be unless someone slips away in the rain earlier!

While watching a live feed yesterday the message board caught my eye - one gentleman complaining loudly about the roads closed near the finish line an outrage - didn't they know people had places to drive and kids to collect from school? A world class sporting event and he's intent on complaining about the necessary safety measures. Bet he doesn't actually have any kids (loads of shots of happy kids and teachers in their little raincoats cheering on from sides of roads as the riders pass) Bet the road closures are preventing him from painting more red crosses on the roundabouts...
