Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

Can't help but like the guy...

Sure, I'd like to see other riders get some wins — probably better for the sport overall. But if Pogi wins them all, I'm OK with that, too.

Just about to watch highlights of stage 1 of Switzerland and wondering who will be in the mix for this race, who will set out their stall ahead of France in a couple of weeks and how will Pog seem after not racing for a while, no doubt he'll be a bit rusty, maybe off the pace--

Oh.

Well that's that then.

So, who has access to Peacock full stage replays for the TdF?
We're had good news here in UK - ITV had live and highlights free on UK TV for over 10 years, but lost rights last year to the ogres at Discovery. However Channel Five (another free broadcast channel) has done a deal and will be showing at least highlights, and possibly for next 3 years! England has the Grand Depart next year so there was pressure on Discovery to show it for free, plus the jump in subs from £6.99 to £31.99 has been a disaster - who knew that all the football and other sports they offered for that eye watering price meant diddly shite to UK cycling fans who quit in droves and like me acquired a VPN.

This is great, as many UK pro cyclists have said recently, without a terrestrial TV and free to all presence the sport was in real danger of terminal decline in UK. My brother in Law, recently retired and who generally enjoys football, rugby and cricket, got obsessed with the Tour last 4 years on ITV, but no way he would pay to watch it.

Last time I checked, Cycling Today/Cycling stream had loads of stages from most races available as full replays (as much as TV carried) And completely free. Always worth a look. Also live, but can be laggy/problems with feed.

I tried for the giro but it was a bit tricky to find & it disappeared every now and then. So I moved to Oz TV (SBS) on a vpn. It's free for Aussies like the old ITV coverage. I'm travelling in July so I'll see what I can pick up on the way.

No, FloBikes. Is all Peacock stuff blocked for you?
No. It's not that, rather I assumed you were watching Peacock- I'm not up on who has what coverage. I meant that whichever channel is running highlights on you tube for you it's not showing in U.K. or is blocked.

Are you able to watch Peacock stage replays on cable, not YouTube? TdF stage replays (not just highlights) will stream on Peacock in the US.

Discovery- TNT in U.K. shows all the highlights. They do 2 daily vids; last 6 or so kms and another 8min highlights of entire stage. It's pretty crap but I do check it out if I've missed it live. That's all that shows legally and for free here. All American highlights must be geo blocked. These fellas guard their digital fiefdoms very carefully.

This announcement of Channel 5 showing the Tour is great because it gives more options and the highlights will probably be 30mins or more with interviews etc. ITV's coverage was fantastic with reporters on the ground each stage. It had over a decade to perfect it. Hope C5 can do a good job.
