2020 Specialized Kenevo is out of stock

I am in the market for mountain ebike and 2020 Kenevo has really gotten my attention lately. I had been calling local bike shops and checking out Specialized website. The answers I got is "out of stock". Does anybody have any insights about this? Covid 19 issue is delaying production? or the model is so hot that they can not keep up with the inventory?

Bike and ebike sales are through the roof all over the world due largely to Covid. I was at my LBS yesterday and have never seen the place so empty. Tim the owner says they can’t get any more bikes so far, has no idea what they are going to have available to sell during their top months - June through September. They have almost nothing in the $600 to $1200 range, normally their bread and butter. The expensive road bikes are disappearing along with the ebikes they were able to get in stock (Giants and Specialized). They had a nice Creo EVO that has been sold, along with some Vados and Comos. Only ebikes there yesterday were a very nice Giant Trance and a Turbo Levo that I can’t believe someone hasn’t grabbed by now.

This is a smallish local shop with a diehard following... overrun by people who realized that the department store bikes are all sold and just run in waving hundred dollar bills, apparently. Tim’s a bit stressed out by it all.

similar experience with my LBS. he said he can’t keep up with sale. Everything goes fast.
