been considering a fat bike off and on, decided today need another more off road type bike to add to the stable

found a used radrover that has been ridden once and says it is like new

but looking at it i wonder if it is a 2015 and not a 2016
is it possible to tell from the pics? when did the 2016 models become available?

and for those that have them is the differences in the 2016 a huge deal?
i can see in the pic the motor is the bafang, so guess this is a late model 2015 or early 2016?

should be getting this used for $1000 , does this seem a good deal if the bike is 2015?
if you guys approve i will buy it tomorrow

thanks for any feedback

It's a 2015. No mounts for a rear rack on the rear frame. See my avatar pic for clarification.

There is actually quite a few differences...there is a list on this forum

i saw the list

this bike does have the upgraded bafang motor, not sure what else

not very worried about a rear rack or fenders, in the desert here and fenders dont work well with my 1up rack

do you guys think 1000 is not a good deal on it?

changing the fork to a better one at some point is not a big deal, this will be a light to medium used bike for me
it may do a few gravel roads and a few dirt roads that are not great, but it will not be doing mtn biking etc

i am pretty easy on my bikes overall

the wires in the downtube would be nice but not a dealbreaker to me

are the upgrades worth another 700 since this motor is the newer one?

The frame is actually a little different and the controller is smaller...also the front wheel has a quick disconnect....

The truth is...if you like the bike you are going to end up upgrading it yourself...with that said the first generation bikes were 1000 on Kickstarter....I would say 800 is fair....just my 2 cents

ok, i agree with the upgrade stuff

thanks for replying, will think on it
have to drive a ways to get it so that is an issue too

@vincent Are you close to D.C.? I have one I'm going to sell with all the Radrover parts (battery, controller, and motor) for $750 (Mongoose Malus which is lighter). And it has upgraded tires/tubes, but not suspension. It will just need a little TLC to get it the way you want.

Hey walawn, Long way from DC, I am in Arizona

This one is in California, think I'm gonna run over and pick it up today

Will probably upgrade the fork at some point but not sure what else

Love the way they look with the fenders but I really don't need them out here, won't be riding in the mud hardly ever and they are hassle with my car rack

Sounds like a good enough deal to me. $700 is a lot to save. I have the 2016 but would have taken such a deal. If only just to get a taste of electric biking. And if you want, you can always sell it later and get the newer version for minimal lost.
