You can never be too careful, as this story shows:

IZIP E3 Peak Stolen In Seattle

I hope it wasn't a member of the EBR community that was the victim of this theft (but I guess it's just as sad if he/she wasn't)! The owner didn't know the bike's serial number, unfortunately, but the bike was reported as being black and green with reflective tape and Planet Bike fenders and a wider seat. If you see it for sale in the PNW, you can find the listing on BikeIndex and contact the owner. Keep your eyes peeled, and remember to luck up your bikes with U-locks and/or keep it indoors -- this bike was stolen from a supposedly secure parking garage in a (mostly) residential, medium-density neighborhood.

The owner of that Dash might want to contact the dealer where the bike was sold. At our shop, we record the pertinent S/N, battery # on a sales receipt which means its recorded in the Quickbooks files. Makes it easier for warranty issues too.
