Deacon, although I own a Giant, too, I wouldn't say that's the best brand. It's just the largest and thus offering affordable quality (e-)bikes...

I wouldn't be so unfair towards Giant. Yes, their e-bikes are very good; I wouldn't have bought the Trance E+ otherwise. The weakness of Giant -- the only one -- is the Giant RideControl app. Have you heard many complaints on SyncDrive motors? I haven't.

It's a good list to be sure but just because the 10 listed may make the best conventional bikes doesn't necessarily mean they make the 10 best e-bikes.

Best bike is a thorny issue.....I speak as I find and I have had 4 Giants over the last 7 years and liked them all. My Fastroad E does what I want and makes me happy. The only issue is a creaking left crank, somewhat intermittent but otherwise ...............perfect. To me it is the best though someone with a GT or a Haibike might say the same so that would be their best. A question without a definitive answer

Somehow, even in this ebike forum, I don't think of any of those brands mentioned. DeRosa, Pinarello, Serotta, Merckx, Bianchi, Pegoretti, Cinelli, DeTommaso, Masi, Colnago are some of the names I associate with best brands.

I won't argue against your list. I owned a Litespeed myself with Lynskey's signature on it. Heck, I always wanted a Richard Sachs bike.

Yup, kinda subjective, best in what way? that covers a number of areas.

I was also wondering about the criteria for best. Brands that I would love to have like Colnago, Pinarello and even Rocky Mountain aren't on that list but and I would take those brands over some on the list.

Canyon is also a great brand with impeccable reputation. SInce they only sell direct to consumers, their bikes tend to be little more affordable compared to similar level bikes from other bike manufacturers. Giant is pretty close.
