Even if the GOTRAX bike is identical to the Lectric and make in the same factory, what is their customer service like?
With Lectric, I can call or email the service center in Phoenix, AZ and get great customer service - that's worth the extra to me. If GOTRAX can match this, I would happily buy...
I may be totally wrong on this but I've found if power tool batteries are "too dead" the charger will not register that they are connected to start charging them. I wonder if the same thing is going on here?
I know this video is for a power tool battery but it'll give you the general idea ...
If I bought this, I'm not sure I would carry a passenger. But knowing that the rack is part of the frame, it's nice to know that I could carry a heavier load
But I probably will buy another Lite to match the one my wife has - just a different color
I'd be happy to buy directly from Lectric again. We have had good customer service from them.
I just wonder if Amazon can deliver quicker with their vast shipping network.
The Lite weighs about 47lbs while the XP 2.0 comes in around 64lbs. I don't think my wife could lift the XP 2.0 into the back of her Forester but can do the Lite with a little effort.
The Lite is a single gear. My wife has never had a geared bike so this was actually a positive for her. The...
My wife would like a water bottle holder for her XP Lite, so this is a two part question:
1) Where / How can I mount a water bottle holder to the XP Lite? Maybe fit to the four holes for the front basket?
2) Can anyone recommend a holder that would take a metal bottle for hot and cold drinks...
Everyone - thank you for your contributions here. I was iffy about the rim brakes for an ebike which is why I posed the question here.
By the time I acquire a bike with disk brakes then order a kit and install it, it's just not worth the time and money for me. I'll probably order another...
Not saying I'll get this, but it may be a possibility:

There's also a couple of Youtube videos by Electric Bike Report. Just search for, "Smart Bike Wheel". I don't know how to copy the video link on my phone to paste here.
Everything...
We got the Lectric XP Lite for my wife back in early June and she loves it. Here are my answers to your questions:
How do you like your Lectric bike? I’m guessing you do if your reading this forum 😃
My wife loves the bike. It's the blue one. I'm considering buying a second Lite to keep up with...
Update:
After researching for the past couple of days, I'm not finding a reasonable priced rear hub motor kit. Also, the current trend seems to be 750W and up - definitely not where I want to go.
I had not thought of the front hub motor. That way, I can get assist only when I need it. I'll...
Thanks for all the advice. In answer to some of the questions:
- this is an old, cheap bike. I'll be very surprised if it has alloy rims
- center pull brakes. I know, I was surprised myself.
- we only ride in fair weather. The hint of rain or cold and we wimp out.
- planning on changing...
I have an old road bike collecting dust in the shed - 27" wheels, 14 speed and rim brakes. Probably 30 years old.
Are the brakes adequate for a hub drive conversion?
Looking to put in a low cost / low power hub motor of say 350W. Planning to use for pedal assist and not throttle only...
Yeah! We're fair weather bikers. We don't ride in the rain or the cold.
My brother-in-law on the other hand has a dozen bikes each with a specific purpose and design - mountain, fat tire, racing etc. And none of them are electric. He lives in Minneapolis and rides all year round. Compared to...
I called Lectric and canceled the Carry Package. Pity, it looked like it was good quality but we just couldn't wait. Instead, we got a rack from Walmart with a quick release bracket that'll work. My wife's backpack fits on this perfectly with bungee cords. We can always reorder in the future...
