2021 Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO - 3 month review

On corners I am still super careful. On my studded fat bike this winter and went down hard and (I think) cracked a rib or two. I was very sore for a couple months after that. I learned that studs are only good up to a point. Push it beyond that and nothing will hold you.🤦‍♂️

2021 Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO - 3 month review

It's a good deal at the moment. I don't think there is a huge difference between the 21 and 22 models and for 22 you'll have to wait probably. I would not have bough this at $9750. That's just too much. But at the sale price that is a compelling argument. I was torn between this and a...

2021 Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO - 3 month review

I've been super surprised at how good they are. They're nice an supple and ride just like a road tire and seem super efficient. They actually worked okay in snow but as soon as it got icy they were lethal and I bought a pair of Schwalbe Winter Marathon Plus studded tires. Those are really...

2021 Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO - 3 month review

I'm considering the range extender. As to the Di2 system, you are correct that the TCU has ANT+ and BTLE, but the DI2 is a separate system and does not interface with that. As delivered it comes with a USB adapter for charge that can be used to plug into a PC only (not Mac) for set up and...

2021 Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO - 3 month review

I got my Creo at the end of December and since then I have put on around 700 miles and 27,000 ft of climbing (which is impressive as SE Wisconsin is pretty flat). I'm not a road cyclist and I am a mountain biker first and foremost. This is my initial 3 month review of the bike. Let me...

Changing Creo SL gearing for the road

I changed my cassette to an 11-32 Ultegra cassette for my area as I never used to large cogs. Much better. I have the Expert with a DT Swiss 350 rear hub. I did not have to shim for the cassette. Didn't even have to adjust the rear mech. It was a straight swap.

    Specialized Creo SL Fender, anyone?

Probably. I’m currently running studded 700 x 40c Marathon Winter Plus tires with plenty of room to spare.

Considering buying a Turbo Creo - Questions

Shimano R8100 Di2 Ultegra is 1x12 with wireless shifting, but still a wire to the derailleurs. The issue is availability at the moment. I could see my upgrading to that a couple years down the road when it become more commonly available.

    2022 Trance X E+ 1 in Amber Glow

I’m really liking the look of the new 2022 Aluminum Trance X E+ 1 in Amber Glow. However, while it is listed on the Global Giant site and that I can find it listed on the Canadian site, it is currently not listed for the USA market? Can I assume that this will be sold in the USA and that...

    Specialized Creo SL Fender, anyone?

I've been using the SKS Speedrocker with great success. https://amzn.to/3r51I7e I'll take them off once we're out of the winter/wet spring months.

2022 Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO

I bought my 2021 Creo SL Expert EVO with a $2000 discount at the end of December (the sales was actually over but the shop had accidentally left the sale tag on. When I said I’d buy at that sale price, the shopped decided to honor it). I really wanted 12-speed AXS (I was comparing against the...

Mission Control: Smart Ride, how to account for elevation in a loop?

The outward bound part of the loop traditionally will be into the wind and more uphill biased, whereas the return will typically have a tail-wind. Ironically, I have done the return half before (or similar to it) - It does not feel that down hill - it is all very slight. I averaged 153w over...

Mission Control: Smart Ride, how to account for elevation in a loop?

We cross posted, and you answered a lot of my follow up questions with your second post. I'm not that strong a rider anymore (though for the last 10 years I would average around 1000 miles and 100,000+ feet of elevation mountain biking gnarly terrain in Colorado). Now I live in the flatlands...

Mission Control: Smart Ride, how to account for elevation in a loop?

Okay. I'm still learning the capabilities of this bike. So I read it stated the range is up to 80 miles. Any idea what that is based on? Is that Eco mode, or Trail or neither? As to the ride, it undulates with no major climbing. It looks like this. Also for the Smart Control, I've only...

Mission Control: Smart Ride, how to account for elevation in a loop?

I mapped out a ride in RideWithGPS. It is an 80 mile loop with 2100ft or climbing and, as it is a loop, 2100ft of descending. I think this is pushing the limits of the Creo SL battery without the range extender, but I feel this route should be achievable using the Smart assist feature in...

Considering buying a Turbo Creo - Questions

Okay, this was helpful. So if I put in 100w when in Turbo (100%) the motor will give me an additional 200w for a total of 300w. If I put in 150w, the motor will give be an additional 240w (as that is the max and is less than the theoretical 300w of doubling my power). You quote 300 as the max...

Did not know you could do that! 👍

SOLVED: Can't increase/decrease Creo power and can't turn OFF

I had the same exact issue last night. However, this was after I installed the road-remotes on my new Creo SL Expert. I tested everything, wrapped the bars (the remotes are under the bar behind the drop clamp), tested again and everything was working great. I then installed the TCU which was...

Considering buying a Turbo Creo - Questions

Okay, I was off on the total watts, you are correct that it is 240w, not 250. However on the US site (perhaps this is different from EU bikes), it states: It also tags: So I take this that it will boost you 100%, so if you put in 240w you will get 240w for a max of 480w. If you only put...
