    Spare parts list for TSDZ2

I am completing my first year of eBike ownership. Me and my wife have two (2) bikes each for a total of four (4) converted TSDZ2 bicycles. We have two homes - so each home has two bikes. We ride almost everyday - so I really don't want to wait around for parts. We don't ride them hard. We cruise...

    Newbie - first build - TSDZ2 - Trek Dual Sport 2

I just bought two more. I have a total of four TSDZ2 (two for me and two for wife). I have two homes. Two bikes at one house and two at the other. I was only going to use an Ebike in Colorado, but I loved it so much, I decided I am Never going to ride an unassisted bike again.

Will Ebikes become a fad in the US?

Ebikes solve unique transportation (parking, costs, ease of use, etc.) issues. Ebikes are more expensive and complicated than conventional bicycles. The small bicycle shops are disappearing. I am in my sixties and live in New Orleans. I have witnessed the small bike shops disappear, however, I...

    Looking for a kit recommendation

I am a newbie here with limited experience ... however ... if hills are involved, you want mid drive. I think the gears in the back and mid drive will work. You don't sound like you need a lot of range, so you don't need a lot of battery.

25% in, looking to go Full 100% on Ebike stable.

I'm in Louisiana. I just converted my first Ebike. My. conversion is the TSDZ2 with a shark battery. My cost was $1000 + about $100 for miscellaneous parts. I am super happy. I know now that I don't need 750 watts, so the setup is overkill. I have more range and power than I need. However ... I...

    Newbie - first build - TSDZ2 - Trek Dual Sport 2

So I'm finished ... kinda. I still haven't ridden the bike more than a few miles - but from what I've ridden, E-BIKES are AWESOME. It took two weeks to do a conversion which should have taken a couple of hours. What went wrong? Lack of experience (didn't order the parts I needed) and shipping...

    Newbie - first build - TSDZ2 - Trek Dual Sport 2

Update: I finally got the correct wire from the motor to the display. I was able to loosely connect the electrical wiring to test. I didn't want to cut the battery to motor cables until I proved that I didn't need to send the parts back. Anyway, I proved that it worked and was able to start the...

    Newbie - first build - TSDZ2 - Trek Dual Sport 2

After fitting the kit into the frame (mechanically - not electrically), I started looking at the wiring and cables. I had to shut the job down because I don't have the parts needed to complete the project. Motor wiring: I noticed that the vendor included the wrong cable from the motor to the...

    Newbie - first build - TSDZ2 - Trek Dual Sport 2

I began the install by spreading the boxes out on the garage floor. I removed the crankset and BB. I removed the cable guide below the BB because the screw protruded into the housing. I left the cables to see if the three cables would still fit with the motor installed. I tried to get the...

Solving which Ebike to buy/build has become a hobby

This forum is awesome. I have looked at several of PedalUma's posts. I am also convinced that one can make a nice looking conversion. Yes there are newbies ... and then there are NEWBIES. Remember that the Wright Brothers were newbies ... and they had a bicycle repair background.

Solving which Ebike to buy/build has become a hobby

I understand weight and how its effects on cycling. And I would like to buy a brand new ready made solution. I also failed to mention that my costs are going to be double. Solving which Ebike to buy/build has become a hobby

I ride for exercise only. I presently ride 25-30 miles and I ride about 5x week. So I want an bike to help with the hills, but I still want to finish my ride with the same amount of cardio. So what I don't know is how much further I have to ride to give me the same workout.

Solving which Ebike to buy/build has become a hobby

Trek Dual sport 2. I am for sure going to install mid drive. I really want the torque sensor. I ride normally without assist 25-30 miles about 5x week. Since I will get assist, I need to extend the range. I still want to get an equivalent amount of cardio. So I don't exactly know how much...

Solving which Ebike to buy/build has become a hobby

I've been a cyclist for about thirty years. I am now 62. I have lived in Louisiana my entire life (up until now). I ride for exercise on a flat asphalt carless trail along the Mississippi River. The weather is mostly mild so I can ride all year long comfortably. I don't really need or want a...
