    Ride Control EVO questions

Just to update those looking for Navigation and Apple notifications, I got below back from Giant today. **** Thank you for your recent enquiry. The navigation feature works on 2019 and 2020 bikes as long as the Firmware is up to date. An update with Service tool 1.0.5.21 or later is required...

    Ride Control EVO questions

Yep, there’s no mention of android only on their marketing. It’s up to Giant to provide functions they list, I’m wondering if it’s a software update on the bike as I did read of this before in order to get navigation working. Frustrating that we have to dig around for these items ,that should be...

    Ride Control EVO questions

Yes I couldn’t get it to work last night. Giant need to be careful as in the U.K. we have the sale of goods act and the misrepresentation act 1967 , which are both there to protect customers from false advertising and sales based on fictitious claims. I may well follow this up myself once...

    Giant Explorer +1

Love the extra sprocket , saves me no end of puff on the big slopes . I live half way up a huge hill so I either start off going severe uphill in Sport or finish off up severe hill on Sport . I like the fact your not too much out of line on the sprockets with the chain e.g. max angle of chain...

Giant Explore E +1 advice on panniers

Went to dealer today, the pannier bungee is supposed to attach to the bent arm just below the crease angle in the frame and he said “trust me , that will work fine”. Here’s hoping he’s right , so far it hasn’t slid up the tube on the way home.

Giant Explore E +1 advice on panniers

Thanks for the advice on the bags , I’ll investigate those further. Yes stand over height is cutting it fine on mine , I have huge long arms so the small was no good for me . They’ve added a ladies saddle for me but I need to get the saddle stem on that shortened a bit, it’s inserted right down...

Giant Explore E +1 advice on panniers

Hi that’s a very interesting thread . I have a men’s Medium , initially the dealer sent me off on a ladies LIV for a test, but for a girl I have long legs and it was too cramped, so I then tried the men’s medium that fits fine although the stand over height is just OK. Looking at my bike I have...

Giant Explore E +1 advice on panniers

Thanks , yes the bungee should attach to a horizontal bar on the MIK rack, sadly the rack on the Explore does have that short horizontal bar . I’ve been looking at the Ortleib , it's good to know they don’t leak. I’ll see if I can get a bottle holder whilst I’m at the dealer tomorrow.

Giant Explore E +1 advice on panniers

Thanks for the reply , it’s the smaller ones I have, I tried putting the spring attachment on the frame but it just slid up the frame . I was worried it would then come loose and catch on the wheel if I’m not careful or catch them with my foot. My dealer is looking into it as he was puzzled too...

Which Lock for e-bike (Explore E+ 1 GTS)?

I bought one of these , I get fitter carting the thing around with me . I guess the professional will always find a way round most but it’s pretty good as a deterant. I also have a cheaper Kryptonite chain on it too so double effort needed to pinch it. Adding it to your house insurance too is...

Giant Explore E +1 advice on panniers

Hi I bought an Explore E+1 and love it! I live in the Highlands of Scotland and believe me that extra cog is well used in this hilly area . I ordered a set of the double panniers off the giant web site but there doesn’t appear to be a bottom bracket on the pannier to attach the bungees to. The...
