Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

Their attention seems to be all about the Scrambler right now. Tora's over in China and seems focused 100% on it. I wish you luck getting your issue resolved.

New Juiced Bike Model: The Scrambler, fat 20" Wheels, Class 3, Double-Seater

Congrats on a great campaign so far! $1MM is totally within reach, esp with 17 days left. I'm sure there will be a surge of buyers at the last minute, too.

EU imposes huge 83.6% anti-dumping tariff on Chinese ebikes

I wonder how they came up with exactly 83.6%. Seems oddly specific. Why not just 80% or 90%? Weird.

This guy had the same problem. In his case, they installed the controller backwards, cinching the cables and disrupting power.

    My RipCurrent S Experience

Congrats on the new bike. Hope you get your adapter soon. How long did you have to wait from the time you placed your order to when the bike was delivered?

Hi Alaskan. Yes I understand that mid-drives take advantage of the drive train. But in a broader sense, I think the reason for so many low-powered bikes is bc the major motor brands want to sell in Europe, which has much tougher restrictions. Not being a European resident, I don't want a bike...

Don't want to commit that much money for my 1st ebike but I also don't want a piece of junk that will fall apart within the 1st year. I'm having a hard time trusting these direct-to-consumer companies bc they just seem like cheap, low-quality junk. But the expensive Treks, Haibikes & Stromers...

Seems like there are 2 segments to the market: 1) cheap, Chinese-made, Bafang powered bikes sold by direct-to-consumer brands started by some guy who just built a website & 2) expensive, European/Taiwan-made, Bosch/Yamaha/Shimano powered bikes sold an actual bike company with dealer/LBS support...

    NYC Electric Bike Law

Thanks for all the replies but no one has been able to explain why delivery guys NEED to have a throttle. Why can't they get around using just pedal assist? Before ebikes, most deliveries were made with regular bikes, so PAS is still and improvement. But now they act like have a throttle is...

    Why no torque sensor?

Comparing Rad City or Rover to other bikes. Noticed all Rad bikes only come with a cadence sensor instead of torque. But even a hi-def cadence sensor is all-on or all-off, while a torque sensor is a more natural power effect. For me, this is a big factor. Anyone know why Rad went this route?

Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

Thanks for all the info p0ppyman. Sorry to hear about your story jinim. I was considering a Cross Current S as my 1st ebike but don't want to get stuck in a situation where something breaks, I can't ride my bike and the company doesn't respond.

    NYC Electric Bike Law

Honest question: Why don't the delivery workers simply remove their throttles and just use PAS? It would be still better than a normal, non-motorized bike and they wouldn't have to worry about the police. Is there something about the throttle that makes it mandatory for delivery?
