    Whizzbang Treat Alert W/Video

What assumptions are you referring to? The power consumption is not as high as I think you think it is and thus it will not 'measurably reduce your range'. But your points on being expensive and hard are both true. There are a handful doing it at various stages. Check out: Roadio, Velo AI...

Careful, you just outted yourself as the brakeless fixie rider.

    Whizzbang Treat Alert W/Video

I used to work at Roadio so am obviously biased. A lot of the issues people laid out in this thread are issues you would hear repeatedly across different people from different places. Longevity of battery life, ideal mounting spots, and generally just a low friction experience to start riding...

Charging iPhone while riding via USB port on Kiox

That looks like a nice setup! Love the PD mounts and cases. Know what power you are pulling from the Kiox? Another good (longer but more expensive) cable is this one by Shure.

Charging iPhone while riding via USB port on Kiox

If you want a little electronics project, this can be done for ~$50. Bosch has a third auxiliary port on your bike, down on the left side of the motor. It outputs 12-13V at 1.5A if I recall. It may not be on (likely is), but your LBS could turn it on if it is not on. You would need at least 3...

    Zen Photon Pure | 780Wh battery (Upgradable1040 Wh UL 2271 battery) | 750W(USA) 500W(CAN) hub motor w/ Torque sensor & Throttle | USD 2099 | CAD 2599

What an excellent bike! All around it is well-specced and designed, especially for the price. This has a lot (all?!) of the features I've thought about for a long time and some I've grown to like (low-step, throttle). Expect it will be a big hit in N.A.!

Front and Rear Lights Installed on Giant with L&M Lights

Correct, 1x each. I allotted extra in case they were broken during handling/installation. BTW, I'd recommend buying jumpers with the pins pre-crimped on to avoid the hassle of crimping. You would have to solder then unless you used an additional connector.

Keeping the iPhone 14 Pro locked in place in the Bosch Cobi smartphone hub

If it's an orange strap, it's likely a Voile strap. They are commonly used on bikes and on keeping skis and snowboards together.

A really good handle bar cell phone mount?

The out front mount shown here (bike is vertical against wall) let's you position it so that it is more viewable depending on how far over the handlebars your are (drops more, flat bars less). It takes an Allen bolt, so you can't adjust on the fly. I've used screen protectors ($10-$20) to...

How to choose front and tail light combined voltage and amps for Trance X E+?

I'm betting your bike has 1 unused connector by the motor and 1 unused connector inside the port where the headtube and toptube meet which can be used for the front and rear lights, respectively. I used both of these connectors to connect to Light and Motion Vis E+ Lights on my 2020 Revolt E+...

    Accessories that didn’t work out?

Side note: Bikemanforu is a total gem of old YT videos. That horn is really good! What made you and your wife stop using the Varia?

A really good handle bar cell phone mount?

Peak Design makes an excellent mount and case. The combo of mount+case is ~$120, but very secure with excellent retention, imho looks nice, not bulky, quick and easy to secure.

Beta riders wanted for ebike safety product!

Hey all! As I mentioned in another thread, I joined a company last year (Streetlogic) that is putting cameras on ebikes to make biking safer. The system gives you alerts to vehicles around you and records a 360 degree view of what is happening. We are looking to expand our beta test and want...

I do appreciate the feedback on the subscription! Some people don't like it, others think it's fair because there is a service. Horses for courses. These cameras can do A LOT more than what a GoPro is capable of because they can use the brains of your phone. I like the safety options out there...

Thanks! The black box recording is interesting and I think valuable to a rider. I've been hit by a car, but if no one is around to witness it, did I really? A lot of forces against cyclists. Heard of all kinds of stories too: police marks the cyclist at fault, there is no follow-up, no record of...

Figured I'd introduce myself here (don't recall if I originally did) as a member of the e-bike community, but also an advocate for and having an active role in advancing e-biking. I joined Streetlogic last year, an e-bike safety company that is putting cameras on bikes in order to promote safer...
