Known Issues & Problems with Specialized Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

After having to replace it 5 times, I traded my bike in for a Super Commuter S, while acceleration was much slower than the Turbo S, it gets much better range, is more comfy, and maintains a higher speed with less effort, its also less of a burden to pedal on very low assist or even with assist off.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

My Wife's bike is having issues of losing motor assist, and the display showing 0% of battery despite having a good amount of charge left. Taking off the Blox module cleaning the contacts seems to help, Its just rather annoying during a big climb the motor cuts out.

What's Up with Carbon Frame E-MTBs?

There are e-MTB races now too. E-MTB is the future, we better get use to it. Think of E-motors as the modern day multi gear of the past.

    Trek Super Commuter

Just traded in my Turbo S for one of these. Couldn’t the happier. I wanted a suspension fork, however after testing the bike out jumping curbs, purposely hitting potholes, and riding on the worst parts of the roads on purpose, I can safely say im happy with the solid carbon front fork, mixed...

    Where is the restriction?

Is there a way to remove the limiter on the turbo S? It runs into 27mph too easy and then bogs the pedal assist abruptly :/

Known Issues & Problems with Specialized Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Had my Turbo S for 6 months, I've had my display replaced 3 times and my new displays backlite just died again. It still works but now I'm just sticking to using mission control app. Most of the time I'm happy at 30% eco and only use full 100% if it's a big grade or I wanna get somewhere...

    Turbo S buying advice

For 1800 bucks you're better off ponying up to a new vado 3.0.

How to actually change settings on Turbo?

I'm on my 4th one now. My LBS has stocked a few extra just in case. I think once the warranty period expires and it dies in going to just rip it off, snip the wires and use my iPhone to adjust. I leave it in 20-30% eco most of the time anyways to get great range.

    Longest Single Ride Yet!

Did a 30 mile ride with some steep hills and about 1100 feet of ascent, had 70% juice left on my 691 battery. Averaging 15 mph using the 20% assist mode. Cadence was +-100 rpm

    2018 Carbon Turbo Levo

Supposedly the non carbons will decrease by 1000$ each, the carbons will take over the existing price bracket.

But is your laptop a workhorse that needs to render graphics, edit videos etc? I doubt that it will stay up to specs very long. I was merely making a point that these things become outdated so fast and will continue to be supplanted quickly, wether in house or by competitors.

    Longest Single Ride Yet!

Technology is rapidly improving especially in batteries, I'm afraid asking a ebike to last 5 years is about as reasonable as asking a computer to last 5-10 years. Our bikes are outdated less than a year after they are launched.

    Maximize battery: Spin or Mash?

I was able to complete a 32 mile trip around some very hilly terrain with over 2000 feet elevation changes averaging about 15-16 mph on eco 30% on my Turbo S. There were some strong crosswinds and the average climb was 6-7 percent grade.

    Longest Single Ride Yet!

Having ridden both, id opt for the newer lower spec. Simply put, it will easily out climb and out range the previous base model turbo. Aside from personal taste in aesthetics, the new bike is superior in virtually every category. More efficient drive train, superior torque, better pedal sensing...
