If you use Custom Modes, and program so that assistance starts high and decreases with speed (and of course the opposite as you slow down), you will essentially have your Auto mode. I’ve done 60 mile rides with gradients up to 12% or so without ever changing out of one Custom Mode.

Routinely go 32-35 mph downhill on my Domane+. Feels much more stable than similar speeds on my regular (and comparatively featherweight) carbon road bike.

Could not live without the Nyon--so much so that I bought a backup unit on eBay in case mine ever konks out. For me the custom assist modes change everything about riding my ebike. And I did it all in conjunction with my LBS so no problems there!

I have no knowledge one way or the other but seems like if they were going to they would have done so by now. It was my assumption that once they bought COBI that is the direction they were going. That said, I would be very unhappy without my Nyon......

It's a Bosch Powertube 500 Wh battery. No provision for external battery. Yes those numbers are perfectly good for me, but don't be deceived by them--if I was riding with standard assist levels on fulltime they would be much, much lower. No different from any Bosch-powered bike.

Can’t really say—I never use power all the time and when I do I use custom levels generally lower than the standard ones. But to give you an idea my ride yesterday was about 32 miles with 3400 feet of climbing and used 48% of the battery.

Yes—have a home solar system with battery storage that supplies actually more power than we use. So both our electric car and my Domane + are 100% solar powered!

I’ll take hills any day of the week and twice on Sundays! For me there is nothing fun about wind, and I agree that is one of the best things about my e- vs. regular road bike.
