The upgrade kit is for replacing an existing cable Eagle GX 12 speed with this wireless version. So no nothing else required in this instance. One thing that I would like to see is shift tuning of individual cogs which this doesn’t have.

I didn’t lay the box on its side because the box had to be oriented upwards per the arrows on the box - and I didn’t want to be causing any damage when unboxing by dragging the bike out sideways. Easy enough to tape the side of a box back up as it is for the top of the box - if required.

This suggests otherwise. That is the brake sensors connect via the EB BUS cable loom. My Frey Beast cuts power when I apply the brakes (Magura MT5e brakes).

Long weekend on an island near where I live. I chose to hire an acoustic bike instead of an e-bike. Plenty of hills and wind in our winter giving the legs an workout. Only service vehicles allowed on the island with the only means of transport by foot, bike or scooter.

Going by the Greenbikekit website you can purchase the Ultra with a choice of volts (48/52), protocols (canbus/uart) and displays which suggests you can use other displays.

Bafang DPC 18. Not sure if other displays will read the voltage of the 60v battery of the Beast correctly. I have the 500c display on my other bike and I can switch from 3 to 9 levels of assist in the display settings.
