    5V USB port on handlebars

UPDATE 2: It's now been just over two weeks and the voltage on the 48 volt battery has barely dropped .2 volts or about .1 volt per week. Since the lithium cells self- discharge to a certain extent anyway, this represents a very low idle current draw for both the controller and the USB port. If...

Hello Lectric Bike Owners - Help :)

Right now it's cold and drizzly here in Oregon, but the bikes have 3" tires, so they should do pretty well in soft stuff. Probably some YouTube videos about that.

Hello Lectric Bike Owners - Help :)

We bought two of the XP ST bikes a month ago. Can't say enough about them, just great ebikes. Beautifully made, flawless paint, great operation, great info LCD. AND CRUISE CONTROL (very rare)! And--the price was remarkably low, about $1K. We've since added folding baskets, 11-34 freewheels...

    5V USB port on handlebars

UPDATE: It's now been three days with the key on. Voltage of the battery remains at 46.6 volts. A drop to 46.5 would represent a loss of 1 Watt-Hour (out of about 500WH when fully charged) so it appears that the USB port is drawing very little current while idle. It's about 25 degrees F...

How to recover a stolen eBike in San Francisco

What blows me away is that the perp was left alone to rip off other stuff. And the owner was actually willing to pay the perp for his initiative, even to the point of going to an ATM for more money if the price was higher. Shows how bizarre certain cities like SF have gotten. Likely if this...

    eBikes overtake Road Bikes

I am new to this Board and new to eBikes, but we just got two Lectric ST (white and black) for Christmas presents to ourselves, and are thoroughly impressed by the workmanship and utility of these things. We've added folding rear baskets for groceries, USB ports for running smartphone GPS...

    5V USB port on handlebars

So the BAQI USB Handlebar port arrived the other day. --I was concerned that I would snap off the handlebar mount so I heated up the plastic with a hair dryer and it slipped on with no issues. No need for spacers, it fit the handlebar diameter perfectly. --The power cable is just long enough...

Frame is non-magnetic so I would assume it was aluminum. Front forks and luggage rack are steel.

Ebike #5 -- My Personal Thoughts on the XP ST V2.0

Enjoyed the review. Just got two XPst bikes for Christmas, white and black. Rear axle guard also bent on one of them, easily fixed. Brake cables bone dry; fixed that. Disabled PAS, just use throttle for far more control. Installed 11-34 free wheels, great improvement. Great bikes.

    Adding USB port?

Perhaps something like this is what you had in mind. It mounts to the handlebar. Have the local ebike repair guy do the installation. Simple job for an ebike guy...

    Are Womens' Cycling Competitions Wrecked?

What strange times we live in. The simplest solution is to go back to XX and XY parameters to determine which team a person is allowed on. A far more cumbersome system could be worked out, with some success. I used to race sailboats. There are literally dozens of boat brands and many custom...

    Keyhole dirt contamination

Bought two of the XP step-throughs last month and we are enjoying them very much. One topic that often comes up is the location of the battery keyhole. It's at the very bottom on the bike, which makes it hard to see while inserting the key. I've resorted to just leaving the thing on unless...

    2nd Test Ride

The seat is simply a cushy wide platform for your rear end. Any "blame" would probably trace back to either a tilt issue (a trivial fix) or the shock of bumps (sorry, that would be hard to fix, short of going to a rear suspension). Not trying to make light of your pain, but try adjusting the...

When possible to buy a higher-capacity battery option?

So I've been educating myself on these ebike battery pack designs, and once again YouTube has been my friend. From what I can tell Lectric could easily offer an extended-range battery pack by using 18650 cells rated for 3.5Ah rather than 2.4Ah. One fellow on YouTube did extensive tests with a...

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Perhaps it's just due to variability in manufacture, but I don't see how I can bend or break off the battery key on my two brand-new ST bikes. There's plenty of slack in the cable bundle so that it never puts pressure on the key while folding. And so far at least I'm just leaving the key in...

    First thoughts

It's been two weeks since my initial review and I've gotten delivery of the black Step-Through. Once again, nicely packaged and perfect paint and welds. BUT the rear axle protective bracket was bent inwards about 20 degrees, and prevented shifting past about 3rd gear. So I carefully used a...

    Problem solved removing battery

Last week I attempted to show a neighbor how the battery slides out. Except that it wouldn't slide out. We eventually forced it out, and upon further examination it appears the rubber charging port nipple was preventing the case from sliding out. One quick snip of the protrusion and no more...

How to correct the speedometer on a 2.0

This is an internal motor setting (locked out on our displays) but the simple fix is to set P06 to a larger number. In my case I found "24" to track fairly accurately with a GPS odometer. Forget about the talk about 20 inches. The wheel itself is about 17" and I guess the tire diameter could...

Warning to those thinking about buying an lectric bike 2.0

Just got delivery of two ST bikes in the past few weeks. Both are in remarkably-pristine condition. It took someone who really knows bikes to set these up so well. Oh, and all four tires look brand-new. Very much impressed with the quality of these great machines. They are heavy, though...

    No PAS for me

By the way, Cruise Control is a great thing. Apparently, very few ebikes have it, especially an implementation that tries to hold speed, not just power output.
