Folding bike - want it all.

I had a 20" folder, 350 watt hub drive, my first ebike. I didn't know any better, but it did turn me on to the entire concept so no hard feelings. I don't remember the brand. It was a hard tail. It just made me want MORE of everything. I sold it cheap and moved on, and having already had a few...

So, the knife wielding bike rider wasn't a e biker? Just a guess..... The clip ins are a hint, the hard core pedal pushers with probably also a grudge against ebikers and hikers are some of the most entitled (in their minds) on the trails, I'm glad no one got seriously hurt but wow that is...

Folding bike - want it all.

My 1300 watt BBSHD Paratrooper Pro at 8500'. It's all a compromise as this is what I carry in my small plane so I am limited to the Montague's hard tail frame. No juice brakes as I am not sure I could fold with their lines (maybe??) No one said life was going to be easy.....

An Idaho mountain bike rack, kindly provided by local ranchers (as are the cow droppings on the trail), only works with fat bikes though.

My BBSHD powered fattie (Surly Wednesday) with a Rohloff hub, on the back of my work rig. This was a special occasion, the fat one was there only because I was working way out of town and spending the night. ALWAYS carried is a BBS02 powered Giant Talon that is carried in the aluminum deck plate...

Cost to recharge an ebike battery.

Nothing, if I'm going somewhere in my car, a plugin Prius, and recharge using the 400 watt inverter. It works off the 12 VDC accessory battery, which is auto charged by the big traction battery. If it cuts my mileage the amount is so miniscule I can't quantify it. At home, nothing also, as I...

Makes me happier to stay with what I got now. And maybe explains why I've been waiting a bit over a week for some parts that normally would take 3 or 4 days.

There's a ski area 3 miles and 1500' above my place, and once a year I ride up to it, usually with my board carried sideways on my fatbike rack. Not much of a fun ride though, (paved road, traffic etc.) and after the first few times I felt like I proved my point, that ebikes are awesome...

Hmmm, I've already got a front ski, 2 seasons now, and it works great. Up until the snow gets too deep and powdery, then the rear wheel sinks in and it's all over. But just the last two weeks, the freeze thaw cycles have hardened things up enough to stay on top, even with the front wheel back.

No, he guards the fort while I'm gone. Since the e addition of the Mont, I have taken it upon myself to be a one man band for getting other pilots turned on to the idea. I try and explain to them that like most things, you get what you pay for, and the Alibaba 20" e bike they can get for...

After 18 years or so of riding "legacy"/non eMontagues, and knowing how tight the space was in my plane, when econversions first came on my radar I assumed they would not be practical for my particular application. Much to my surprise....., other then the expected added weight, it didn't change...

Works for me! A bike, ANY bike, much less a capable ebike, greatly enhances the flying experience. Being able to get around after landing is a big deal, much less being able to trail ride. Instead of grabbing a candy bar out of a vending machine, I now ride into town to get something to eat...

I carry a Montague bike in my RANS S-7S kitplane (and have for 20 years) and 3 years ago converted it with a tweaked/hot rodded BBSHD Bafang and a Rohloff hub. At home I ride a Surly Wednesday i also hung a BBSHD and a Rohloff on. I wish I could take the fattie on plane trips, and as a joke...
