Nevo GT Vario, HS or Roloff?

I've been test riding several R&M bikes recently after trading in my previous e-bike because it just wasn't working for me. As a result, I've been thinking long and hard about what kinds of things are important to me. Regarding getting a 20mph vs. 28mph bike, I'll echo what my LBS told me — if...

Motor lock, to block your bike electrically

With Bosch e-bikes (and probably others too), removing the display achieves a similar effect as there would be no way to turn the bike on and you'd have to ride or walk it away without any assist. But while that's certainly inconvenient, it's not impossible by any means and, in my opinion, your...

Question about Charger (Mixte) frame size

Thanks for the advice, @Ravi Kempaiah and @JayVee! I took the 49cm diamond frame Charger out for another test ride today. At this point, I've ridden it for around 30 miles / 2 hours. What's interesting is that I found my arms feeling a bit sore, and couldn't figure out why initially. I thought...

Question about Charger (Mixte) frame size

Hey folks! I was trying out a bunch of R&M bikes yesterday and, after being near certain that I'd favor a step-through model, was surprised at how much I liked the Charger. I'm a bit uncertain as to which frame size would be best for me though. For context, I'm 6'2" (1.88m) with a 32.5" inseam...

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

I agree — things don't really seem to add up, especially given all the other Arroyos that seemingly don't experience these continuous mid-ride shutdowns. I'd be surprised if switching to the Purion actually fixed the issue. Either way, though, I 100% agree that downgrading the display isn't...

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

For anyone curious, Propel very graciously allowed me to trade in my Arroyo and I'm now taking the time to carefully choose my next e-bike. That said, it seems the issue with the Arroyo was the result of the Intuvia display not playing nicely with Gazelle's choice of handlebars. Specifically...

    Bosch Kiox : Obsolete Already?

Not sure if this helps but, according to the Kiox and Intuvia manuals, they seem to both use the same USB port and both mention using a "Micro A-Micro B USB charging cable” to power external devices so it appears Bosch didn’t change anything on that front.

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

A glimpse of my weekday commute in NYC. Not my personal e-bike as I'm in the middle of trading it in, but one I ride frequently.

NuVinci H|Sync retrofit Bosch PerformanceLine CX

Good luck and let us know how it goes! I've come to really enjoy the Nuvinci hub. Hope you can get yours up and running soon!

NuVinci H|Sync retrofit Bosch PerformanceLine CX

I don't have any experience doing this but, for what it's worth, I asked my LBS about replacing the Shimano 8-speed internal hub on my 2018 Gazelle Arroyo (Bosch Performance Line motor) with a regular Nuvinci hub (no H|Sync) and they said it'd be extremely time consuming with lots of...

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

You hit the nail on the head — that's exactly how I'm feeling at the moment. Glad you ended up with a bike you're happy with!

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

So I got my Arroyo back on Thursday after Propel replaced the cable from the display to the motor and tightened the battery mount. Sadly, I had to take it back yet again today because the bike is still shutting down. Propel said they're a bit stumped as they've never seen this issue continue...

Manhattan’s only e bike store closed down

I was bummed to hear about this too. I'm not sure why they closed but, according to a post on Reddit, they're closed for good and are in the process of liquidating their remaining stock via their website. @Court FYI in case you want to remove NYCeWheels from the shop directory.

Was just thinking about an easy way to touch up a few scratches the other day. Thanks for this!

Possible to retrofit Nuvinci hub on Bosch bike?

I do wish it geared a little higher and, over the years, I've gone back and forth between liking/not liking it. However, I've ridden a lot of the electric bike share bikes here in NYC (which only use Nuvinci hubs) and I've come to really enjoy the versatility and smooth, continuous shifting —...

Possible to retrofit Nuvinci hub on Bosch bike?

For anyone curious — I asked the folks at Propel about this and they said that, while it is technically possible, it'd be extremely time consuming with lots of complications to work through, and it's more cost efficient to get a bike that comes stock with the Nuvinci system.

Possible to retrofit Nuvinci hub on Bosch bike?

Anyone know if I could have the Shimano Nexus Inter 8 hub on my Gazelle Arroyo (Bosch Performance Line motor) replaced with a Nuvinci hub? Or would there be issues with the Bosch software?

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

Quick update — Dropped my Arroyo off at Propel this afternoon. They'll be inspecting it this week to see what's going on, but seemed confident it can be fixed without too much hassle. One of their customers had experienced similar behavior with a different bike and they said replacing the...

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

@Chainlink Yes! I've experienced very similar behavior, although it seems to vary occasionally. Glad you were able to make it over the bridge — that's a rough climb with a dead motor. Worst I've experienced so far is when the bike cut out in the middle of an intersection on the Brooklyn side of...

No Bafang used by mainstream bike manufactures.

They're (slowly) introducing thousands of e-bikes to the bike share program here in NYC and, having seen this thread, I decided to check what motor they're using after riding one today. Sure enough, it's a Bafang front hub motor.
