    New ebiker and Magnum owner

It depends what kind of riding I'm doing. If I'm commuting or going a further distance I prefer my Metro+. But if I am just riding through neighborhoods and through parks I really like the comfort of the Cruiser. If I wasn't commuting 12 miles a day, half in traffic, I would probably own the...

First Battery Use: Drain It Entirely?

From what I have read it is 90% of the usable voltage. I have this written down but not accessible at the moment. But I have found a very good correlation on my bike. I know the range is generally 50 miles and so when I ride for 5 miles it surprisingly correlated with the proper battery level.

First Battery Use: Drain It Entirely?

My understanding is that much of this has to do with slowing down the process of 'plating" on the anode/cathode. This will eventually reduce the capacity of the battery. According to people who know, this happens as much as twice as fast at the 100% state than at the 90% state. The build up...

Slowing down to wife's regular bike speed

I have a magnum brand bike and the control unit is programmable. It allow you set the lowest top speed for pedal assist from 28 to as low as 15 mph. This adjust the other 5 assist levels down as well. If I remember correctly, at 15 mph top assist the level one assist is 7 mph. That would be...

    OEM Certified Parts

You are correct. In two years many things won't come from China. they will be 3-D printed in the nearest city and shipped to you. Manufacturers, in particular car manufacturers, will be doing this soon because for many things they will no longer need to keep expensive inventory. This will be...

Why do I have to wait for so long before I can post after I just posted something?

I ran into this tonight. It was 260 seconds. I understand the need for a delay but 60 seconds would seem more reasonable. I saw it was going to take four minutes to post an answer to someones question and I moved on. Discovered it before going to bed still on my screen so I posted it then.

Added a Magnum Cruiser to the garage.

I got mine through a dealer which is nice as it is all set up and tested out. But I think Magnum also sells direct through their website. I will say that it is a little intimidating because it looks bigger than all the other bikes. And is is about 8" or so longer than my Magnum Plus. But it...

Added a Magnum Cruiser to the garage.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know it is hard. It was hard for my wife to purchase the more expensive bike. But I think now she is glad she did.

Added a Magnum Cruiser to the garage.

I have been enjoying my Metro+ for about 6 weeks now and have 325 miles logged so far. My wife had been riding it some before we headed down to get her a bike this weekend. We took out a regular Metro and a Cruiser for about 30 minutes and she decided on the cruiser. The cruiser is one sweet...

    C7 Display on Metro+

Don't be afraid to try out the eco or power modes. The default is Normal. Your selection will "stick" even though the display will always show Power. I prefer the eco mode as it feels more natural to me. The mode determines how quickly the motor ramps up to full torqe. You will feel more a...

    New Magnum UI6?

I have the metro +. The Metro+, Metro and Ui6 have the same battery pack, controller and all have a 500 watt motor and more or less the same frame. On my metro + I routinely go 40 miles over generally flat roads before I recharge. I'm pretty sure I could get 50 if I needed. I just like to...

Will 2018 be a "Big Year" for eBikes?

One of the demographics that I believe could give a boost the ebikes is the baby-boomer generation. I happen to be one of those as are my 10 year older brother and 6 year younger brother. I was mildly surprised last year to hear they had both bought bikes (not ebikes) I think there are a...

    US proposes 25% tariff on China-made e-bikes

My opinion is this is just negotiating tactics. I wouldn't worry too much yet. China has been stealing american technology zero consequences for years, even decades. This is an attempt to change that I believe.

Got my Magnum Ui6 - includes periodic updates

Congratulations. I love it when I hear how someone who thought their riding days were over finds new life in an ebike (that would be me also). I have the metro plus and also LOVE the quick release adjustable handle bars as I have a bad wrist that doesn't like certain positions. As regarding...

    Magnum Cruiser

Congratulations. I love the leather saddle bags and the bike already reminds me of some of the early 20th century motorcycles.

    New ebiker and Magnum owner

Congratulation. I have had the metro plus for a month and haven't stopped smiling since. I had the same issue with 6-7 gear pretty quickly. I suspect this is the initial stretching in the cable. A half turn of the adjuster make it shift as smooth as silk again. I made another quarter turn...

Is Magnum metro + , gravel safe?

I have had the Metro + for a month now. My commute is only 7 miles each way. I think you are good on a hard packed dirt road. My concern would not be the surface as much as the smoothness of the road. bumps, dips and potholes would be my concern if you are going 18-20 mph. But the bike is...
